Lisnpuppy
program files/steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim is the usual file structure
anandus
Yeah it's in [steam folder*]/steamapps/common/Skyrim(* Depending on where you've installed Steam, default is, as lisnpuppy writes in program files/steam) And apart from that it's just the same as Oblivion (Steam or normal versions are the same)

lemperor1
Yeah it's in [steam folder*]/steamapps/common/Skyrim(* Depending on where you've installed Steam, default is, as lisnpuppy writes in program files/steam) And apart from that it's just the same as Oblivion (Steam or normal versions are the same)I'm a noob. Could you elaborate on "same as Oblivion" please.
RitualBlack
lemperor1, he means it follows the same folder structure as Oblivion. Data\meshes\(various sub-folders) Sort of like what is above. Most mods will be a drag and drop install, and if there is not currently a folder there the file you drop will place the correct on in the correct place (assuming the person who packed the files did their naming correct  )
Blocky
In other words if you were installing a texture file for females it would go here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\textures\actors\character\female Or if the zip has the "Data" folder structure already in it, you drag the "Data" folder from the zip and into: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim
Wyrdfire
Or you can use SteamTool to remap your directory to something shorter using Windows' junctions.
Mechanoid
I've just installed Skyrim. The structure ISN'T like Oblivion. The data folder has no sub-folders. The meshes are all in a single 1.4 Gb file ! So where do the mods go ? And why do others think the stucture is different ?
