SargeWashington
So, along with many other people, I am having some issues with my Fallout 4 install. Disabling mods does not seem to help, it just changes the frequency of the crashes (mostly from somewhat playable to crash the instant I get to the menu). So as you can probably guess, I am at a loss. I've looked through the mods on my load-order and sought to ensure that they were still compatible, but I may have missed a few. That is why I am asking a knowledgeable person to give me some suggestions on what to do. So I am not totally sure what to do there. UPDATE: After reinstalling all my mods with NMM in Administrator Mode as well as replacing Settlement Keywords - Independent with Settlement Keywords Expanded, it seems to be running a bit smoother. I don't want to jinx myself, so I am going to assume I am not out of the woods yet. Edited June 20, 2016 by SargeWashington
SargeWashington
Update: As of last night, I was able to get in at least four hours without a crash. Would've been more, but I had to get some sleep. Further testing today. Note: My (potential) fix may not work for everyone, but if it works for at least one person other than me, that is a success. Fix:Open NMM as Administrator (Right click the icon, click open as administrator, or go into shortcut settings and flag it to always open as admin) Reinstall ALL mods, esp. ones that bring in new textures. If using Settlement Keywords or Settlement Keywords Independent with Homemaker, replace with Settlement Keywords Expanded (Esp if having menu issues) Hit your load order with LOOT, and it should at least arrange the core parts. (Potentially) Profit.Weird other note, bath mats still have a purple texture (as in straight purple, no detail or anything. Screenshot incoming in a minute). Suggestions? DizzasterJuice
I have 774 hours on Fallout 4 and in all that time I think I can only remember 2 crashes. Currently, I'm running 54 mods.I've never used any mod manager for Oblivion, FO3, FNV, Skyrim or FO4 and I've never had any crashing problems except for FNV which I made a mod to purge cell buffers that permanently fixed the problem. Try entering "PCB" in console before you change cells and see if that improves anything. Also, I'm not saying that the mod manager is the problem but it may be worth trying to manual load if you are still having all these problems. But hopefully it sounds like you have it fixed. cossayos
I have 774 hours on Fallout 4 and in all that time I think I can only remember 2 crashes. Currently, I'm running 54 mods. Before patch 1.5 I had two or three crashes, running the same amount of mods. Now they happen at every given opportunity. Workshop, pip boy, cell loading. I also took great pains to not load any mod that hasn't been updated after the latest patch and the DLCs. Still, the crashes keep coming. I guess it rather has more to do with which mods anyone is using and the general configuration.
SargeWashington
Well, I just had another crash- This time in V81 as I was coming back from the Secret Area, where you get the Molerat Disease Cure and meet Curie elevator down to the main living area, and blip. I am starting to think it has something to do with those damn bath mats, potentially. Images as follows. IMAGE1 IMAGE2 As I am in survival, crashes such as these are extremely problematic. I do have it to where I can save on wait, but I felt like the autosave mod would not be worthwhile. I may have to take another look at that. DizzasterJuice
The pink means the game can't find the texture. You probably have a mod that replaced the mesh with a bad file path. You'll need to delete that mesh to fix it. Try looking in Data/Meshes/setdressing or maybe interiors. I'll look up the exact file path when I get off work later.
