nofear88
I yet to get a house and I have a lot of Septims to spend on stuff AND I have a wife to cater to. I tried to go to the Steward of each city I been to but no dialogue option comes up as buying a house. I dont know if the same system applys like it does in Oblivion but where oh where do we go to actually live in Skyrim?
JimboUK
You have to complete quests in the town before they'll let you buy one.
Vindekarr
I have one in Whiterun... It's not bad, but not very customiseable. On the bright side there's a complimentry pretty Nord lass included in the deal, on the downside she NEVER SHUTS UP. The house for me is simply a very large crate though I'm now trying to find a housecarl-free house. One thing I like to do in ES games is, when I find a gem or jewel, I ~setscale9999999999999 it and then throw it on a pile of similarly enormous jewels, silver and gold items, coins, magic gear, and jewelery in my house. Eventualy my houses look like dragon's lairs, absolutely FULL of gold and jewels, and that's how I like to live in ES games, alas my STUPID housecarl keeps kicking the jewels into the corners and I'm going to turn her into a belt if it doesn't stop.
