ShadowKitty42
This mod does look pretty cool, but only one idea has not yet been mentioned in this thread. Make some Argonian males/females and some Khajiit males/females able to be married. As far as I know, this was left out of vanilla skyrim (although I don't know if there are any mods for this). SnowElf
There's no adoption in Skyrim! I can see the quest now... "QUEST STARTED: STEAL A BABY" Edited January 3, 2012 by SnowElf
Arturius997
This is an excellent idea! Skynilla marriage is quite...lame, compared to the marriage mods of Oblivion. There are a few things to consider though: The Nords of Tamriel are based off of the Vikings of Old. Viking marriages were less about romance and more about profit, convenience/necessity, or forced. Having marriage along those lines would be slightly more immersive. A few examples would be: Profit:Marry a merchant allowance (500+ gold)have spouse search for certain items to aid your adventuring (ex: ask that they get Fire Salts or Daedra Hearts)Create a minor trade guild between Holds Convenience/Necessity:Marry Ulfric/Eislif allowance (2000+ gold)have spouse send out soldiers/decrees/boutnies to benefit your adventuringcreate minor faction (ex: order of knights)have multiple followers (ex: guardsmen escort, bodyguards, etc.)entrench spouse's position of power using fame (ex: Dovahkin to be High King/High Queen! Ulfric/Eislif's position assured!) Forced/Contract Marriage:Marry a bandit chief, head necromancer, etc. relative immunity to ambushesnew mercenary followerscave/temple lairsend raids on Holds, towns, etc. for profit Here are some actual marriage ideas: (assumes that you use a same-race, or similar race, spouse) Male Dragonborn: Wife has probability of being infertile, say 60/40 chance with pregnancy on the higher side.Warrior can train you in certain disciplines, go adventuring, etc.Mage stays home, but can heal diseases, train you, craft potions/poisons, etc.Thief can go adventuring, steal items off screen for you, etc.Lone adventuring spouses have a 60% chance of returning home Female DragonbornHusband has 30/70 chance of getting you pregnant, pregnancy on low sideWarrior follows and trainsMage follows, trains, offers services for freeThief follows, trains, offers free services, can go alone and get some cool stuff Pregnancy = Scripted Timeskip, Hiring of a Nanny Child-wise: Child will follow NPC spouse, unless you're doing a child/parent bonding questChild will play with Hold ChildrenCan have a pet dog, goat, etc. Getting a child:Adoption Pregnancy happens through scripted eventsSpecial Semi-static cradle holds baby. Animations would be cool, but not essential. Interactions with child determine attitude (ex: spoiled, humble, shy, daring, etc.) Wife will leave to (somewhere) for safety and will return 9 months afterwards. Will keep you informed through courier servicesWill ask for certain items. Items will be delivered through mailboxes at home (specially labelled; boxes will disappear after wife's return)20% chance of dying in childbirthChild gender has 50/50 oddsChild can possibly be sent to boarding school in CyrodiilReturns every fourth week of monthPlease consider limitations of game in regards to aging... Whitefire
Wonderful ideas here; imho even more complex conversation options would be a great benefit. I think i will wait with the game-marriage until this mod is picked up by someone and done :D
Thasic
I have to say this would be a mod I would like to see as well. Especially some short quests involving your significant other.
SnowElf
Can you make the children grow too? I know there's not really aging in Skyrim but I don't want to have a bunch of little children running around my house forever. I want them to grow up and slay dragons with me. I could teach him dragon shouts too, or maybe we have to revisit the stones so he could learn them.
Spartan0536
+1 to this mod as well, My guy needs to get laid, and I bet Mjoll has a few tricks up her armor :P Mjoll is perfect right now, as she talks to much, much like an actual spouse, and she has annoying friends (err well A friend). Wonder if in Elder Scrolls pregnancy is 9 months or if its sooner since it is another realm.
