evil cabbage
Hello all, At the moment, I can either get Skyrim on the PC or PS3. I would like to get the PC version due to mods and the fact that I'll save about $20, however, my PC has fairly weak hardware that only just scrapes over the minimum requirements: Intel Core Duo T9300 @ 2.5GhzNvidia GeForce 8600M GS4GB RAMWindows 7 64-Bit I would appreciate it if someone with hardware knowledge could inform me of the performance level that I am likely to get and recommend me a platform. If this helps, the last major game I played on this PC was Dragon Age: Origins. Medium settings on that would get me about 40-60FPS indoors and about 15-30FPS outdoors. Thanks. 4dvz
I strongly recommend you to buy a new gpu as you can get a good one fairly cheap these days, it would make a huge difference. My rig is for example:e6600 core 2 duo overclocked to 3ghz. (I don`t know where your cpu stands at on comparison to mine..)Nvidia gtx 460 1gb (it costed 200€ about an year ago)4gb ramwin 7And I`m playing this game on ultra-settings with ini-modifications+ambient occlusion forced on 1080p, indoors and dungeons the frame rate is really smooth, outdoors it`s playable if you can manage 25-30fps. And ps3 graphics suck big time these days, and no disrespect towards the system it`s just getting so old.. everything looks so pixelated in my opinion. 4dvz
Aaa ok I didn`t know you had a laptop.. Well ps3 would be the better option in that case.
Pushkatu
4dvz is right, get the PS3 version so that you can enjoy the game. From what I red on the official forums, there are people there who say that the game runs great(ultra settings) on an older PC, while others clain they have problems(FPS related) playing the game on a very good PC. Well, it's still to soon and they'll probably have to optimize the game more with some new patches, but who knows?!
Reddimus
Honestly, I think this game is better optimized than Oblivion and Fallout were. Skyrim runs much smoother for me.
GoodfellowGoodspring
Im playing on a 6 year old PC and 3 year old Card, minimum requirements mean nothing and it will look better then a console version
soot00
PC all the way. Last year I bought a PS3 160 gig system. After the inital 2-3 weeks of "cool" moment I barely touched the console and it was collecting dust for a good long while. Recently sold mine on craigslist and don't miss it one bit. JimboUK
I think the OPs best option is the PS3, game won't be any fun on that laptop.
vastolord27
  ps3 all the way i don't want to be playing it in a laptop screen i rather be playing in my 50 inch plasma 1080p and my Dolby surround sound .
