What'd you do in Markarth?

I had to give this one up, I could not get anywhere with this one. I did allow myself to get arrested and could not fight my way out. I don't want to give anything away, but I found a lock pick and tried to unlock the jail door... got no where with that one either. Did the Skooma thing, tried to fight the Orc.... :wallbash:

 

When I had the choice of being arrested, I did fight the first time, when I left the shrine...I was being attacked by all the guards. I don't know if the quest is bugged, but this seemed to be a no win situation. I was at level 10 for this one and I may not have been strong enough to get through it, I may try this again later. Soooo...I loaded up just before I went into the shrine and said good bye to Markarth and left town. I'm surprised I got away with that much...LOL!

 

It's easy if you get yourself arrested, don't start any fights in the mine, just do what you have to to see the King & then escape with them,(you'll have to stab the snitch) you'll get your gear back & your name will be cleared.

 

Thanks, I finally had a brawl with the big bad Orc and bested him, it went from there. When I got out, I just said ..' c'ya !' , and let them get things figured out. I'm now out exploring again. :tongue:

I let them arrest me. Did the quest so i could have a little personal one on one talk with Madanach. Pickpocketed a random prisoner for a shiv. Killed Madanach, looted his body. Found a note on him saying he had a key somewhere. Found the key. Went out of mine using Madanach's alternate tunnel route. Exited tunnel Thonar showed up, gave me my equpments and.... QUEST COMPLETED. plus i',m so going to kill Thonar in his sleep (if possible)

 

now this is interesting. You just get your equipment after getting out?

you others that were complaining, have any of you tried this?

 

Also i have an idea. Since quest items can't be taken off you, can't you exploit this to smuggle in a quest weapon (like balgruuf's greatsword) and use it to fight your way out?

Yes actually the same happened to me. However when I left the mine through the dug tunnel, for some reason my companion (who rejoines you at the exit) started attacking Thonar Silver-Blood or the other way around. That was a bit unclear to me.

 

So at that point I really wanted to escape through the guard quarters and out the main entrance but found the gate locked requiring a key that I couldn't find. So I cheated using a console command, picked up my gear and walked out the front door and there was Thonar to give me my gear back (wich I already found and gathered) plus his family ring.

 

It has been reported that upon killing Madanach the quest becomes slighty bugged. Well for some it does.

messed up, I escaped with the forlorn dudes, pwned all the guards that stood in our way, got out of the city and ever escorted the forlorn to their shitty little camp.

 

But for some reason, I am still wanted in Markath, my bounty is ridiculously high and I cannot pay my fines or bounty. I can only resist arrest or go to jail again!

After several reloads this works for me:

• 
  Prevent the murder by killing the assassin
   
  Do the investigation
   
  Go to jail
   
  Team up with Markath for the prison break
   
  Do not engage in combat
   
  Go to the keep and buy a house
   
  Do some quests to become Fane

The Forsworn tend to use Necromancy on the bodies of the people they killed, so they turn to ash when the die the next time.

Also if u help the King and escape with the forsowen then they give you some nice magic items as well as your gear back. and the Jarl says sorry :)

you can still get forsworn's enchanted armor and kill them before they enter the city. That's what I did. It wasn't hard to do using the beast form. And later you also get an enchanted ring from that Silver-blood guy. So that's the best way if you want more trophies. Though, not sure of the role-playing side of the game. I did this not to get reward from both Madanach and Silver-blood, I was with the forsworn in the beginning because I didn't have my gear and needed them as allies in case of something happening, though I never liked them and wanted to get rid of them. Once I got my gear, I decided it's time.

Just wondering if any knows where my equipment that was taken off me when i got sent to cidhna mine, might be stored.

I finished the quest but, i never recieved my items back, and dont know what to do now (also i f***ed up my quicksave file as well, so i cant reload an earlier save to try again)

To access your equipment you need to go through the cell door opposite the one you go through to start mining etc.. and then go through another locked door to the left which has your stuff.

 

When and how you do this is unknown - for me, funnily enough, I encountered a bug in which I went through the ceiling after conjuring a summon, this caused me to pop outside the cell for some reason and get my stuff. Oddly the guards didn't even say anything at all.. The other way to get your stuff back is to wait for the Forsworn king to give it to you, then kill him of course :) That was a good battle.. I hit him and all his friends appeared from outside (I thought they were long gone).. was lucky to survive.
