ChikatiloPurgen
It's as simple as it sounds. Whereas I would just open up a project with Nifskope for FO3/NV and just get the material "flower" to attach the texture I'm editing to it, to preview it and be able to see what I am doing, it just wont work here.I'm completely lost. I heard somewhere that it has something to do with the damned material files, but I have no idea how to attach them to the textures. This is just for previewing so I know what the hell I am doing, I wont be polishing the .nif thingy for putting it ingame, just gotta get a preview of textures. ChikatiloPurgen
So I decide to open it yesterday, just to extract the models so I can open them in the older NifSkope and jury rig it to show textures (Since at least the old nifskope would show them in preview).Opened the file and bam, the ass shows the textures. Great stuff, started working immediately.Shut down PC, sleep, wake up and turn it back on, NifSkope doesn't preview textures anymore.Am I missing something here? skubblebubble
Hit or miss for me too. Some of them have the actual texture files embedded in the nif, as opposed to just the bgsm file.
TrickyVein
Textures in BSShaderTextureSet are ignored in-game where a material file is used. NifSkope doesn't render material files, unfortunately. At least not those in JSON format, which are believe are of the type which the Fo4CK produces. Use the latest version of NifSkope here. It's being updated periodically and you can get better information about the program.

Now, after this happened today, I went to close it a few times, restart my PC, no change. I then went to just pretty much pushing every button I can and going to export the model to .obj, then upon closing NifSkope and opening it up again, it started showing everything normally, just like the old one did for Fallout 3 or NV. It's literally just a hit or miss issue at the moment.I feel like I am playing a minigame of whack-a-mole every time I wanna do some texturing work with a visual preview of what I am working on.
