Omeletter
Since I am a mage type of character, I might use conjuration to aid in battles. I hear stuff like frost atronachs are great to use... what do you think about conjuration?
940220
It's awesome. Summonings can do quite the damage and it's used for collecting souls which will be very helpful when enchanting and refilling your magical weapons. Also if you have the bound sword spell (which is a conjuration spell) you don't nedd to carry around a physical weapon.
Vagrant0
Conjuration actually seems to work out pretty well in this game. Decent variety of summons, bound weapon that don't suck balls, durations which are are long enough to actually be useful. The conjuration perks are also pretty nifty... Soultrapping with bound weapons, banishing summoned things with bound weapons, extra duration, extra distance, lowered costs. Bound weapons also look cool. Reddimus
I have one problem with it. How the heck do I find the damage numbers for the weapons?

I think he means the Conjuration school. It has a soul trap spell.

vineyard
neat ! the summoned frost atronach is one of the toughest meat shields in skyrim, and it's very effective against opponents( and would be a headache if summoned by enemy conjurers) at early of the game, btw, where can i purchase summon dremora lord spell? must i have to find the spell books scattered around? patcazzo
First I tried to make a spellcaster who is good with Destruction (damage) , Restoration (defense - magic) and Alteration (defense - physical) but somehow there are now Alteration spells which are useful against physical melee attackers. After a lot of trial and error I finally used some conjurations. I never tried Frost Atronoch but with a dremora lord you can keep every melee enemy at distance... so yes, conjuration is totally worth it.
