DDProductions83
Now it might be they had a bad day? I am starting to donate to Mod Creators of specific mods that I feel are worth the $$ to me, in that I would like to see more of "this" or "that" kind of Mods. Both were over $10.00 and I will leave it at that and no, it was not $11.00  But in neither case did I get a "Thanks!" - "Thank You!" or "Why did you do this, this mod is not worth that .. but Thanks!" But sadly neither of them have taken the time. It's been over 1 week to 1.5 weeks with both. Sadly I will not be donating to them again. The Strange thing is - both Mod's Desc. Page encourage "ENDORSE, it means a lot and keeps me motivated and if you want to share of few pennies / dimes, I will not say, "no" to those either." The above is paraphrased, so as to the avoid "Fall Out". Now maybe I just gave to the wrong the Mod Creators? Some people are assholes. I wasn't quite so blunt, but I do agree. You recently find a mirror? Outstanding @DDProductions83! I am all aquiver with anticipation of what ever is next? Maybe you can regale us with the "I'm rubber, your glue" ditty. Or how about the Pee Wee Herman line. How did that one go? "I know you are, but what am I"? Or perhaps you have a heartfelt rendition of the classic "sticks and stones" saw. I can't wait to see what you brilliant whit has in store for us lowly entitled users. Please let me know if you have donated to me before, so I can return it, because I don't like taking money from the disabled.

Welp I was making fun of your mental problems but you decided to play the victim card a bit for something I could not have possibly known about rofl. I tend to have a shitton of respect for anyone who has served in our armed forces, but your attitude is disgusting to say the least. From initially berating MA's, most of whom view responding to donations as a breach of privacy or otherwise just not caring to and who would rather just make more mods, to accusing them of wild s#*! and telling them they could just make new emails and have auto delete incoming etc, which would have set off your sense of entitlement had you responded back anyway. I will never forget the first donation I received, that guy gave me some early validation and kept me pushing onward to learn, did I send him a message, nope, but I see him from time to time commenting on LL or here on one of my mods and I tell him they are in existence because of him. You burned any of that from people you maligned and insulted in the last few days, they do this for fun and as a hobby, not to be accused of random bullshit from someone, vet or not, wounded or not. The vast majority of people modding tend to fall into a definite awkward point when dealing with users etc, and just don't want to be f*#@ed with it. I would bet my ass I've donated far far far more than you to MA's as I re-allocate a ton of my donation money, and I never expect a thanks and often do not receive one. I thank you wholeheartedly for your service, one of the biggest things about this country that disgusts me is how it treats the men and women who volunteered to sacrifice to allow me to be the douchebag that I am. Your attitude can take a damn hike though buddy.
steve40
I have a mod that has 190,000 unique downloads. I offer it for free. I don't accept donations of any kind. But I've only ever received about 1000 messages thanking me. That's about 0.5% of the total user base. But seriously, who gives a s#*! *shrug*. It sounds like the OP is caught in an Approval Trap and needs a bit of help.

Deleted82156User
Those thinking that modders are being elitist, selfish and thinking themselves better then users, because they did not receive a 'thank you' for donations, are leaping to completely false conclusions. When I donate to a modder, my email address is included in the notification sent to said modder (I get a copy). Nothing I have read in this thread gives me any reason to believe that a quick email with the words "thanks" included is too much to ask. Now before we go back onto the tangent with the I email, you email loop, a non-monitored Gmail account is quick and easy to establish. Just establish a rule to delete mail on receipt. Viola, no email loop. And we know that a email from Joe Schmuck the modder to Little Johnny the gamer does not pass through the Nexus, so Robin will never know. So that "The NEXUS forbids it" excuse is just that, an excuse. So my expectation is that I should receive a "Gracias" or a "Danke" or a "Thanks mate" is not unreasonable. It is a simple courtesy. But what you and several other modders in this thread have done is too try your hardest to convince me that this simple courtesy is too taxing, too time consuming, too difficult, or just too much to do. But I know that to be a lie, because you made the time to cash the check. You and I both know that we all make time for what is important. By implication, this simple courtesy is just not important enough for most modders because they do not make the time to be courteous. They do not sent that email because they simply no not want to be bothered. So please stop lying. I am not stupid. I know very well that if modders wanted to, they could send an email in seconds. But they do not send that email. Why is left to the imagining of the spurned. But when treated rudely, people imagine the worst. Finally, I am convinced that at least more than a few of you ARE elitist ingrates. How do I know? Because some of you herein have taken my money and then (in this very thread) had the temerity to give me gave me that "entitled user" (expletive deleted). I tire of this. I have established that all of the reasons given for not sending that email are nothing more than lame excuses. I have also established that the discourteous behavior of modders is a personal choice made by the individual modder and has nothing to do with Nexus or any of the imaginary obstacles modders have erected to avoid being courteous. Actually everyone in this thread has over and over pointed out not only the awkwardness of receiving ALL the donators personal details including friggin physical address, but also that no it is not easy to just write off a thank you to their Paypal email and quite frankly not a lot of donators would appreciate that. Many people have brought up extremely valid points as to why it is neither expected nor even recommended to reach back to donators. However in stead of providing any kind of logical debate over the points raised, you resort to calling anyone who disagrees with you 'elitist ingrates'! You are spouting about how rude and how we are 'liars', where do you get off saying crap like that dude? I can only assume you have no actual logical rebuttal to our points made so are throwing a whoopee temper tantrum because you know you are wrong. Not on dude, you who are here talking about courtesy and respect while demonstrating such a lack of it yourself. I am not stupid. I would like to believe this, but your actions are definitely indicating otherwise. Now I am going to tell you again, but I have zero hope of you actually listening...I do not feel comfortable getting people's personal details from Paypal and I do not feel comfortable contacting them via those personal details. I immediately delete the Paypal email because people's personal information is not something to be thrown around. If you don't like that then that is your problem, not mine. I am very grateful for donations, but feel it inappropriate to 'track the donator down' and also feel that many donators would not care to be contacted back. Dude if you ever donate to me, you will be getting your money back. I would never keep money from people who not only feel so free to insult me but also demonstrate such a judgemental and downright nasty attitude. If you are expecting something back from giving a donation then you are being utterly unreasonable, a donation is a gift made with no expectations of anything in return. We modders don't expect every single person who takes our mod to say 'thank you'. Yet we have poured hours and hours of costly time into making those and time is money. Does that mean that every user that doesn't contact us back to say 'thanks' is an elitist ingrate....of course not.

PoliteRaider
To you or anyone else who donates. Thankyou, sincerely and truly I appreciate you deciding to donate to the modding community. It benefits us all every time someone gives to a mod author, to encourage a vibrant and dedicated community. Those authors you give to are probably the same people whose mods I use, who have inspired me to take up modding and may have created tools and tutorials that I'm using today. Even if they have no link to me at all, I benefit every time this community that I'm a part of grows stronger and more united. To donors, to endorsers, to polite commentators, to reviewers, to constructive critiquers and to community organizers. Thankyou. To mod authors who give of their own time and energy and effort to provide their creations to other people in spite of all the obstacles that are getting in the way. Thankyou. To people who just use and enjoy mods, the quiet majority out there whose ad revenue to the nexus supports the website that supports the community. Thankyou. It's great to care about how we deal with others in the community but try to keep it positive, or else what's the point? Isn't the point of politeness and manners to make a more pleasant environment for everyone? Where's the virtue in turning polite behaviour into some sort of stick to belittle and degrade others? Try to remember why you donated, and for any time you don't receive the gratitude directly from the author, let this personal thankyou from me take its place. http://i.imgsafe.org/b8182553cc.jpg
