Xristo
I had that problem... twenty locks later, it gets easier - but the expert and master locks are still tricky.
Farlo
With 20 Lockpicking I was able to get a master lock in under 3 lockpicks, I felt proud :P OP, if you have a question about something, chances are someone else has also. You might want to try Googling before asking, this how-to on lockpicking was the second result:
Ghogiel
Here's an advice. When you rotate the pick, tap a to start pushing with the knife. But just tap it. If the lockpick shakes (without you moving it with the mouse) then it's not the right spot.word. I just do it methodical. I start at the left and depending on how strong the lock is, I move the pick accordingly. I use some feature on the outer rim of the bolt, like a rust spec to gauge where to go back to if the pick breaks. It might take 5-10 picks to get a master lock open without any perks in lockpicking. I totally disregard lockpicking perks as picking is kinda easy and master locks are rare enough that my pick stash keeps growing and growing.... barrynor
Funnily enough, sometimes NOT moving the pick from the starter position opens the lock... whenever that happens it cracks me up.
Y0kenB
I noticed last night that you can even listen for the sound of a pin being moved. This happens at various stages in the pick range, though I found that the correct position has so far always been indicated by a pin-moving sound when slowly moving the pick (and then fine tuning of course). Love the fine detail they put in place!
