Loqe Posted November 15, 2011 Share Posted November 15, 2011 Hi,I'm finding the dog companion to be more trouble than he's worth simply by being so irritating.Whenever I stop moving the dog tries to stand in the exact same spot I'm standing in, resulting in him pushing me several meters away from where i was... he's pushed me off cliffs darnit. I have determined he is more annoying than Dog MEat was in Fallout 3. THe first fix I applied was a mod that nearly makes his constant barking just a far away whisper. The fix I need now is to adjust this idiot animals follow distance. IT follows far too close all the time , and does as you say. Constant bumps, he runs into the horse I'm on. I canforsee the damn animal bumping us off a cliff some day. It also has a real bad habit of laying down in a doorway blocking exit. I've taking to shouting at it with my dragon shout. How this garbage script made it out of development is really revealing to me. Not a good thing to think about for long. I'm going to trry and find some of the old console commands I recall using in Fallout to adjust follower distance and if that works I'll post results. The sad thing is , in both fallout and fallout new vegas the scripts there for followers was richer, the default game had the ability to adjust, somewhat the followingdistance. For some reason Bethesda chose to make followers even stupider than prior games they developed. I'm almost tempted to shelve this game until they release the toolset. It may be a month or more. /cry. Danariel Posted November 23, 2011 Share Posted November 23, 2011 I've noticed that Meeko isn't as bad about constantly bumping you and moving you around. Vigilance drove me nuts, so I sent him home and went and found Meeko. Much better! Just remember to set him as essential, so you don't accidently kill him. Motherby173 Posted May 4, 2012 Share Posted May 4, 2012 I had the same problem with Barbas and have just posted my own request without properly checking first. what can I say, I'm tired but its out there more now for more modders to see.
