Yan42
With this post/thread, I try to collect useful ideas for mods that would make Skyrim a greater RPG. Some of these may be "stolen" or little or more changed from other users. I don't seek any fame, I only want Skyrim + mods to become the greatest (Action-)RPG ever. ^.^No assurance that every or one of these is realistic to be created as a mod, nor that my english is "correct". 1. Levelscaling a) Completely remove levelscalingThat would be the brutal method. But I think in late levels the game will get very easy on master-difficulty. Maybe it's possible to set a solid level to many enemies/quest~ , especially for late and hard quests/monsters so that you still have to train combat skills to succeed. b) Make the enemies' levels scale to skills, not levelThis could be a very elegant solution to be able to play "social" characters that first want to be low on combat skills. The system would check the offensive skills of the player, like one-handed and destruction, and scale the enemies to these stats or the highest of them. The result is that you first can play your character as a trader or pickpocket and level up, without the enemies getting too hard for you. c) Adjust the item-variety of high level enemiesIt can't be possible that nearly every bandit will have a set of high armor and weapons, like dwarven, glass or even better. They should always keep their hide/iron equipment, maybe chiefs can wear steel. Also, it should not be possible that every NPC I pickpocket-ed is able to hire 3 ultra-strong bandits with crazy equipment and powerful, magic weapons to beat the sh*t out of me. That simply is not realistic. 2. Skills & Perks, Leveling a) That you can select perks by training a skill isn't very RPG-like. A simple solution would be that you can not select specific perks, but they level up by leveling up the skill.Example: You play a 2-handed warrior. The perk you can skill 5 times, that increases the damage of 2-handed, will unlock on certain skill levels. On skill level 30 you get 1/5, on level 45 2/5 etc. With this change, nobody would need a mod for 2 perks per level up. Didn't calculate it, but I guess that the whole system still isn't too overpowered, especially with the next idea. b) Slow down the leveling-speed for specific skillsIn total, leveling is fast, too fast. It should not be possible to "flame" 3 bandits, use raise zombie, and flame them again to get 1-2 points in destruction and 2-3 points in conjuration. But don't slow down every skill! Speechcraft for example levels bit too slow by trading items. But smithing too fast again. To balance every single skill will probably take time and become hard work, but I think lots of people would help the modders. 3. Hardcore mode Really, really want this one. But 1. and 2. should be made first if possible. Adds debuffs if you don't eat/drink/sleep. I don't think that a "bar" similar to stamina is needed, that would be too easy. It would be better to get some status signals that your character is hungry, thirsty, very thirsty, or really needs some sleep in time. Therefore, it would be funny to be able to carry a bedroll and maybe some firewood to make a fire and cook with you. Probably impossible, but it's worth dreaming of this option/possibility.Additionally it's necessary to remove the quick travel option and to make the passage of time (?) more like real-time, or even equal real-time. 4. Marriage-Mod I did not yet married with one of my characters, but it's always good to make things like marriage more variable, with more options. Click above to get to the marriage-mod-thread. That's it for now. If I get more ideas or read/hear them somewhere, I'll try to add them here (if possible). Feel free to discuss and criticize as a reply. PaladinRider
I believe every one of those has already been requested a few times. No worries, those will likely be the first few mods to be released.
