Own a castle/fort

I think the original price should be more than 7,000 – it is a castle, after all, even if a derelict one.

I’ll just put in my two cents and say that after you’ve made a certain number of improvements to the castle/fort, a few quests start to happen there – a siege by bandits, say, who want revenge because you took over their hideaway. One of the servants actually works for the thieves’ guild and you have to figure out what to do with her. Even better, someone attempts to assassinate you in your chambers (lol, with your wife/husband freaking out while you try to grab a weapon and fight back…) and there’s a whole quest around that – maybe your steward has betrayed you? I know nothing about modding but heck, I like to write and I wouldn’t mind helping someone come up with quest details.

Also, servants calling you and your wife/husband “my lord/my lady” would be epic.

yeah i think it should cost 50000 so its not so easy to get

This is probably going to be a age-old problem - balance vs realism. You want to charge a rational price but many players play where making coin is a large part, and many players, like me, don't bother with making gold in the game. I tend to buy a lot of stuff and I don't often sell my loot. For me 50k would be reasonable, because I only have about 20k on me, and I'd have to spend time to get the money and its more meaningful. Other players 50k doesn't even lighten their coin purse.

I had this issue with my New Vegas mod where you basically opened a casino/hotel to the public. Just as many people felt that everything was too cheap as well as too expensive. You cannot satisfy everyone. I'd say just set it the way you think it should be.

You buy the "best" house in the game with 25k, and 36k with all the upgrades. For a house. 50k for a castle? It should be somewhere between 100k~200k with no upgrades.

But obviously, that should be the standard, because if someone releases this mod, there will be "unofficial" mods that alter these kind of things.

I think the progression of the castle should be preset. Kind of like Paladinriders casino mod in fallout new vegas ( Loved the mod btw, I worship you). I remember the nightmare that was RTS. It was good in the beginnning but build too much and your game would crash.

or we could add an option that depends on the player(i.e cheap version,ok,or wealthy version)

I think the initially be free. Your Jarl says something like "I think that Fort Icantthinkofaname has remained in the hands of that so-called bandit king for far too long. If you capture it for me, consider it yours along with the title of whatever our culture calls a Baron."

What costs an arm and a leg is fixing it up (and making it awesome). So it might cost 10k to fix the dilapidated walls, but 100k to make them the envy of every Jarl in Skyrim.
