Fuzer
Hi, i want to know what are your ways to improve these 2 skills, without wasting gold / soul gems? thx!
lukertin
only way to improve speech that I know of is to use bribe/persuade/intimdate speech options. you can improve enchant skill by disenchanting magic items to learn how to enchant those effects onto regular items. Handofbane
Hi, i want to know what are your ways to improve these 2 skills, without wasting gold / soul gems? thx!Speech seems to be similar to how Mercantile was leveled in previous games - make all your multi-item purchases one item at a time for maximum benefit. At least it is used far more often that way than via regular persuade/bribe/intimidate checks.
saldu
You have to "waste" soul gems to level enchanting due to the fact you are only allowed to disenchant each property once. But it's not really wasted, as only the big soul gems give benefits worth having, you can just use the lower ones for leveling.

Fuzer
by selling "one by one" you mean, selling the single item, quit , and then talking to the seller again? Or just one by one :)?
Ghogiel
just one by one, you don't have to quit the dialog completely when selling.

natelovesyou
just one by one, you don't have to quit the dialog completely when selling. Is that truly how Bethesda is doing things again? Gah, despite all the things they've learned, some of the dumbest and most tedious things they still haven't learned... Increasing Skill[*]Trading with merchants will increase your speech skill. The amount of skill progress gained is based on the base value of the item being bought/sold. However, if you trade multiple units of an item in one transaction, you will only gain experience equivalent to trading a single unit; for optimal leveling, sell each item one at a time, and sell expensive items.[*]Reading books.[*]Successful persuade and intimidate attempts. ...Just looked it up now...at least the value of the item also makes the skill increase faster. Just like for Pickpocket, the more valuable the stolen item, the more skill experience. [:
