Hi everyone.

IIll give my PC specs, and then detail the quesiton I have:

PC specs are about average:

processor core i7 920 at 2.67Ghz

ram: 6142 MB high performance gaming ram of some sort

vid card: gtx 285

500gb harddrive

OS Windows 7 64 bit

Does Skyrim only use 2gb ram? Or is that some sort of misinformation? Do I need to download a mod that allows usage of more than 2GB ram? I'm intending to run the game at as high res as possible. What video settings should I be aiming to run the game at plz? What is Antialiasing and all that-no, actually, do I need to turn AA/AF on or off or..help is appreciated. :)

thanks heaps!!

I solved the same question in the next way:

Open skyrim.ini change current or add the next text:

[Papyrus]
iMinMemoryPageSize=100000
iMaxMemoryPageSize=5000000
iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=1800000000

It may be better if you make backups of your saves and ini settings before starting skyrim with changed ones. Skyrim work faster (in my situation) but I can't guarantee that it will help you. . .

These are bad settings. Bad, baaaad, settings.

If I remember there are custom settings isn't it?

iMaxAllocatedMemoryBytes=76800

What must I change here or anywhere to make Skyrim to see all ram?

After I tried the changes which I described before, Skyrim begin to use over 3 gb ram if it used only 2 earlier. . .

Anyway i join to the question

I'm not sure but if your OS is 32bit I think Skyrim ram limit is 2gb but if you have a 64bit os (and this I'm dam sure) Skyrim WILL CRASH if you get to 3.2gb or over and there's nothing you can do at least that I know. If anyone knows a way to get Skyrim to use more then 3.2gb ram POST IT, you will be my hero!

It's a 32-bit application, so, it' can't exceed 3.2GB.

If you had the source code and the means to compile it as a 64-bit application (not to mention the time and experience to fix all of the bugs that this would bring out of the woodworks), that would be a different story.

You don't need to do anything to get Skyrim to see more RAM as (since patch 1.3 or something) it's already got the LAA flag.
