Skyrim PrintScreen Problem

Has anyone else been having this problem? I can't seem to print screen in game. It works fine when im not playing. I've tried holding the button down for a couple seconds, doing so, it seems to skip the game a little, freezing it. It never captures anything. Any suggestions? Thanks

I could make screenshots with the prinstscr. key. They showed up in the directory but for some strange reason i couldn't open the bmp. image in order to change them to jpg/png. Really weird.

You can tell that you've taken a screenshot ( with the f12 key) by the little pop up thing in the bottom right corner while you play.

The screenshots themselves you will find both in your Steams account (under the 'view' tab) and in your Userdata folder ( C/Program Files/Bethesda Softworks/Skyrim/Userdata)

Keep double clicking on the subfolders (there are a couple of them and they all have numbers, no names) till you find the one entitled 'screenshots'.

Just a word of warning...it may be wise to make a back up of your screenshots by copy/paste and placing them in a different folder as a sort of back up each time you play the game.

I was forced to uninstall my game and make a fresh re-install. Once i did that i realised i lost all the screenshots i had taken before. Luckily there weren't that many, but still.

Hope this helps.

I've got something really weird going on, my screenshots were being saved as bitmaps with normal numbering, now they're being saved as PNG with all sorts of random numbers.

Huh? Yours were saved as bmp? Mine were automatically saved as jpg which i found to be a bit disappointing as i wanted them to have a better resolution.

The numbering is weird allright. I also notice that yours don't have the date included. Mine do, as in 2011-11-15-0001, etc. Perhaps i could tweak something in the ini? I'm beginning to have nightmares in my sleep about the darn ini files.

The only thing I've done in the ini is disable vsync and tweak shadows. I've never known Beths games to save images as anything other than BMP and certainly not PNG. I can't think of anything I've done that would cause the sudden change from BMP to PNG. :ermm:

If yours is saving your as JPG then it might be worth using FRAPS, the free version saves as BMP.
