Sharing of game EXEs

Hi,

 

I have uploaded a file called Large Address Aware at http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=202.

 

It seems that this tool doesn't work for everyone because some people are running versions with hard-coded Steam implementations in them, I'm going to contact Valve and Bethesda on this issue but I wanted to know what your stance is on potentially uploading TESV.exe with this patch applied.

I believe that would be illegal. I remember lots of folks asking for the original Meshs.bsa or Textures.bsa and that was not allowed, sure it would be the same for an .exe.

the real question is

 

are these alternate coded versions - legal versions

 

if they aren't then you know that people having trouble with your program don't deserve assistance.

I have to say that i have this problem with hard-coded TESV.exe file and i have the original DVD version of the game.

Running the steam version and applied the patch without any problems. Are you sure people aren't just being stupid and patching the wrong files?
