minngarm
This is a huge disappointment for me. No pikes, spears, halberds, lochabers, nada.
PsYchotic666Joker
yea i was sad to hear about too, they really need to bring them back, same with throwing stars and crossbows!morrowind <
minngarm
Crossbows and throwing weapons would make sense too. Really they just shortened a lot of the customization down, they made a great game, but the lack of these items really limits replability for those who like to try new combat styles. mojobechi
Polearms, pikes, spears, halberds, throwing weapons and crossbows. +1 to all those great suggestions. Maybe if we ask nice enough they can throw it in the expansion. On a similar subject I'm glad staffs are 1 hand but I wish they where like shields and limited to only 1. billyro
I think one of the reasons for no spear-type weapons, is the animations. I think it would be hard to animate spear attacks.
TotallyNotToastyFresh
Hopefully with the new animation format we will have some more success with adding things like throwing weapons/crossbows. I was devastated when I heard they weren't adding in the Morrowind stuff.
minngarm
No harder than any other two handed weapon type they have. Really its just a matter of lazyness either on development or by being rushed to have to cut content.
PsYchotic666Joker
I don't know about the rest of you, but i really feel they're making the games too easy and more of a jack-of-all-trades instead of specific builds, as getting rid of skills is making it easy to be a master of everything, morrowind had what? 27 skills? then like 21, now 18.... -.-
minngarm
I wouldnt say jack of all trades, but they are defining it down to 3-5 things really. MeleeMageArcher/theif/assassinMage-theifBattle-mage Really not much in the way of the class system anymore which is great being skill based and not class based, but you should expand you're skill options not just widdle it down to basics. I know plenty of people will argue "well I can spec for heavy armor, shield and a mace, and then restoration magic and make a cleric, or I can go two hand, destruction magic, and heavy armor and make a dark knight." But really it still comes down to a variation of the above. invididual weapons should have their own skills. Learning to use a sword will not make you a better fighter with an axe or mace. Anyone whos even LARPed with training weapons can tell you that.
mojobechi
I'm glad they put separate perks in for axe, sword and maces. I think they trimmed the skills decently enough, but I would've enjoyed more depth as well.
