Deleted440451User
Hey there, Hopefully you're familiar with my previous Skyrim mods like time on loading screen, Lockpick Pro, custom cursors and game on loading screen (I'm good with mod naming, that's obvious). My next project will be a complete overhaul of the Skyrim UI. In the process I will make all files from scratch, no Skyrim source files will be used. Aim for the overhaul:Create an UI that closely resembles the Skyrim UI style but improves where possible and makes it PC centric, instead of the console targeted current UI. Also adding numerous of options for people to customize the UI even further and options for non-modders to skin the interface using external images (outside of the UI SWF files). Current stage:The titlescreen has been redesigned but doesn't have skin files or settings yet. Comment/reply if:You have a great idea for the UI, you can give examples of user interfaces that are great in other games, if you like to support me in any way or if you're just interested! Please note: I'm not giving any information on how I'm doing it and how my process works. It's really hard and there's a 75% chance you won't have a chance to do it if you're not a Flash developer. ratch
this excited me =]i use your Lockpick Pro, but the fact your making a PC Centric UI is awesome. i hate the UI in Skyrim because of how bad it is. i am so close to just going back to Oblivion for a bit trying some mods i never used. like the Magicka one =] anyways, GIT-R-DONE!!! a better UI would be amazing xD
stumpndum
This mod is just what Skyrim needs, the game is fundimentaly flawed on PC because of the dodgy console port, its like they went "Screw Skyrim for PC our markets console" or "Screw Skyrim for PC the modders will fix it" I sir salute you, tip my hat then bow. There's a designer who did a nice an popular job on bethesda's forum, though I didn't understand if he planned on doing the UI himself or just designing it for someone else to implement it. If it's the latter maybe you could get in touch with him to work on the design while you do the implementation? Just a suggestion, of course, if you don't have already imagined what your UI will look like. Here's his idea.

There's too much going on which makes it look like a webpage rather than a game UI. That's not what I'm looking for but he has some interesting ideas, I'll contact him if I use elements from his design but chances are slim. To the others: Thanks, glad to see you're excited! GileadMaerlyn
Ok, then. Good luck with your mod, I can't wait to have a UI thought for PC, the most important flaw of the game.
Deleted440451User
Good news on development: I thought I wasn't able to change the in-game HUD but I've successfully retrieved it from the game files and compiled it, working, in the game. Now working so it uses the right fonts and fixing a bug or two.

Thelionheart
Looks clean and very user friendly as far as I can see. IMO it also looks nicer visually than the vanilla UI.
