hoofhearted4
ive been messing around with the damages of a few guns in GECK, and i can figure it all out. one gun does say 50 dmg but does 150 DPS, while another gun may do 30 dmg and do 250 DPS and another gun may do 150 dmg and only do 100 DPS (all hypothetical numbers) and i cant figure out why. i tried changing some other numbers but i dont see the DPS number change. changing the rate of fire doesnt seem to do anything to that number! and because i cant figure out how to control DPS, i cant figure out a solid DPS to give guns, roughly. everything i do ends up being way to powerful. i just want an above average gun that takes 2-3 shots to kill weaker things, and a more powerful gun to kill the stronger things. but this DPS thing is givin me a hard time :P thanks for your insight guys,
Simpson3k
only a guess..perhaps DPS is calculated from Damage and firerate..delay between each shots?
ModelV
DPS is better to ignore and you really dont need to reference it anyway. As said it is damage per second as the amount of damage you can deal in one second while firing at maximum rate of fire. Generally this isnt useful and in the case for you bugged it seems. minngarm
Its likely the DPS is just stamped in manually I havent checked for it yet myself but try sniffing around for that, it may not be calculated on its own.
ModelV
IT is calculated on its own. Its just finicky in the GECK.
Delikatessen
It's calculated based upon the base damage, animation speed, fire rate and fire delay (if it's a semi-auto weapon). If you're trying to make a full-auto weapon, it's likely that you've got the firing animation wrong (yes, this is important). This is also the case with trying to change a full auto gun to semi-auto and vice versa.
