hey guys totally loving skyrim, turned me off BF3 altogether!!!

after 30 hrs or so of gameplay made me realize that this game could be so much more!

Ever just wanted to walk thru town with your character holding their helmet in between their arm chest? (and maybe as you draw your weapon your char places the helmet on his/her head?)

http://us.123rf.com/400wm/400/400/diter/diter1011/diter101100018/8278396-medieval-knight-in-the-armor-with-the-sword-and-helmet.jpg

[like this and act boss]

Or even just simple things like placing the belt and scabbard around your waist? or maybe even fitting boots/gloves/armor

Now now, i know im dreaming, but even if there is the most smallest possibility of this happening id to see it either stand-alone or put into a total conversion mod?

please guys with says its possible or not so i can get the idea out of my head!!

Anything is possible...nothing is forbidden. it just a matter of if someone is willing to do the work to make it happen. i would love to see this. i think animations are key to improving realism. disappearing helmets and bows and shields and swords is just retarded. and so out of date. I'm completely surprised that bethesda is STILL struggling to keep up to par with modern game expectations. these things are common base for most slashers and rpgs today...i mean come on guys this isn't boulders gate 1...its f***ing Skyrim. Games like assassins creed and the witcher wouldn't even dream of having something like this going on in their game...swords vanishing and other such nonsense. I can't believe bethesda thought they should just overlook this and hope nobody would notice. just a shame really. Hopefully there are other modders out there that realize these same faults and put in the effort to fix the mistakes bethesda has made. I actually placed a post about a mod request for things like this as well. (mod request: weapon loadout) hopefully it will catch on and get fixed soon. Edited by envyme

i agree with you!

3 years and what have they done, just gave us a better looking oblivion!

All i can hope is that a modder out there takes this onto his plate and adds it into a total convo mod to show them what their game can achieve by ppl that just only do it because they love it. Not for the pay check!

If you decide to hand over 100 000 000 bucks to Bethesda, and they might be able to. You do know a game takes more money than you proabably will earn the next few years? We talk about millions upon millions. They spend so much time designing a CUSTOM world for us, but that's something you do not care about?

Besides, they couldn't have done too much more. Mostly because the game needed to fit a hardware of a toaster- I mean an Xbox.

3 years and what have they done, just gave us a better looking oblivion!

.... what? .... You jest, surely?

They gave us a game hosting 100-300 houres. They gave us dragons. They gave us decent animations. They gave us a "realistic" world.

by ppl that just only do it because they love it. Not for the pay check!

If you don't know for sure, do not speak. I am sorry, but you know nothing of the indsutry. Did you know the average paycheck of a 3d artist is 700 000 bucks a year? And they can work overtime for months, to hit a deadline. Nobody works in the game industry got the pay check, they do it since they love the art. The different is a modder is not bound by a deadline and a boss.

Did you also know about every industry artist started as a modder for a game or two? Any of us modders could become an artist for a known company in the next few years. Do we suddently stop loving what we do?

My point being: You should respect them more. It is not Bethesda fault for not getting the time or money they need to do everything. It is a combination of Zenimax decisions and the fact it is made for old hardware that gimps everything.

I agree with not only what Matt said, but also that simple realism animations come last in the long list of required functions put into the game. Ubisoft did it in the AC series simply because the player stares at their character the entire time and the main selling point of the game is to feel all badass being an assassin. On the other hand games like Call of Duty take shortcuts since it's a 1st person game - have you ever seen the weapon swap animation? The character reaches to his back, but the weapons just jump from the hand to the back or from the back to the hand. World of Warcraft is even worse - since Blizzard focuses on content and not RPG realism, armor just appears and disappears with the only exception of sheathing weapons. Bethesda is comprised of smaller teams than Blizzard or Activision, with less teams to work together like in Ubisoft's case. Sure if Skyrim wasn't such an ambitious project of a game then sure they could've polished every last millimeter of every aspect, but it is a HUGE game for such a small company and I say a huge kudos to Bethesda for pulling it off to a very minute portion of imperfection and speckled dust. Point being Beth doesn't have the man power, the funds nor the time to make every last part of Skyrim anywhere near 100% perfection. On top of that, they're pressed to make the DLC's to stay aloft in today's market.

Bethesda deserves every cent for their game and a huge round of applause for such a feat. 8)
