amycus
So I finally got skyrim despite my hate for steam after seing some reviews that made me unable to wait any longer, and I'm having a blast (and what do you know, I didn't get any problems with steam after all). I'm playing a mage, and is currently trying to enchant some items. Of course, I run into a few issues that I don't quite understand. I have learned a few enchantments that increase mana regeneration, but for some reason I can't apply these effects to any other items than the main armor and headgear. Shouldn't I be able to enchant the gloves and boots as well, or am I just doing something wrong? EDIT: Oh, and for some reason I can't disenchant the medallion "Saarthal Amulet" (found during the collage of winterhold questline)? Ghogiel
So I finally got skyrim despite my hate for steam after seing some reviews that made me unable to wait any longer, and I'm having a blast (and what do you know, I didn't get any problems with steam after all). Shouldn't I be able to enchant the gloves and boots as well, or am I just doing something wrong? No. only certain items can take certain enchantments, I think you could put magicka regen on helmet, armor, ring and amulet. I believe it is an attempt to sort out the spam enchantments that have existed in past games. But you can still spam enchant. If it is destrustion spells that rip into your magicka pool (it's what does me when I spam dual chain lightning  ), think about the enchant that is a reduction cost of that schools spell instead. If you can get 50% of that your manna will last twice as long... If you can get 80% reduction... Then your magicka regen won't be a problem in battle. Once you use the higher end spells, you will empty your bar and even with 100 or 200% regen you will be out in a few dual chain lightning blasts, But if you can get destruction spells costing virtually nothing, THEN you are in biznass and you can blast away at a low cost to the pool... EDIT: Oh, and for some reason I can't disenchant the medallion "Saarthal Amulet" (found during the collage of winterhold questline)?Pretty sure you can't unenchant unique items. Well I have encountered items I can't enchant and don't know that enchantment...
