xMelonLordx
I'm sure I'm not the only person who grows massive amounts of tatos, corn, and mutfruit for a steady supply of adhesive. Even going as far as dedicating entire settlements to the process. Well I had a thought the other day, what if someone were to make a hybrid crop, that provides all three, just from one simple plant. The concept is certainly lore friendly, living in the wasteland is tough, and I can almost promise that some scientist out there could be experimenting on anything and everything in order to increase his odds of survival. The idea is this... 1) add a new crop, variant of the mutfruit, altering the model to show tatos and corn on it too(sounds simple enough, but I don't know much about modding). Maybe require a perk to be able to plant it, maybe Science! 2) As Mutfruit provides 1 food, and tatos and corn both provide 0.5 food, each "Hybrid" would give 2 food to the settlement, and each harvest would yield 1 of all 3 crops. 3) This would drastically cut down on the amount of settlers needed for farming the same amount of food as I understand, not to mention the amount of objects in the area that your game has to load. If anyone sees and agrees that it is a good idea, please feel free to take it, and run with it. Edited July 11, 2016 by xMelonLordx
Hitlerhasonlygotoneball
Interesting idea, but maybe there is a different angle you can take. You see one of the best sources of natural adhesive is tree resin. Now tree sap already features in Far Harbour, so maybe allow you to make the sap into adhesive and plant the trees in your settlement. And for those who don't have the DLC I'm sure it wouldn't be difficult to port them or make new ones from scratch. Anyway there is already a mod that does something uncannily similar, as it is a mutfruit plant that requires one of each adhesive component, I.E. corn, tato and mutfruit: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/6123/? cartman1975
My "scientists" found another way to make adhesive from "raw materials" which are nearly unlimited in the wasteland: Bones. Now the machines are available, so you can go into mass production and use vegetables as food for your people, not glue!Look for Manufacturing extended and soylent green ;)
