killingmetal
There are these nice mods like the Hydrogen bomb, or Institute nuke fatman, but you can only shoot the nuke so far. An explosion so huge, detonated at such a close distance, would definitely kill you. It looks very unrealistic, and because they are shot at close distance some even have trouble with the explosion effect (sky turns red, smoke particles appearing behind you and such). The reason why you can't shoot these nuke projectiles farther, is because after a certain distance of traveling through the air, they just disappear and nothing happens. So my question is, would it be possible to create a mod that would allow the launched nukes to fly farther before blowing up? I tried tinkering with the range of the projectiles or the weapons range using the fo4edit but nothing changed. The only thing that seemed to work was increasing the uGridstoload from the ini files to a higher number than the default, which in my case was 5. Or maybe was it the cell buffer thingy? I dont know exactly which one, but one thing i know for sure, if i increase those values, my pc will have difficulties running the game. My video card is allright but my cpu and ram memory are not so great.

Arach84
As a kinda piggyback onto this suggestion, perhaps rocket-propelled nukes? Even if its just rockets with the nuke explosion, but made so it works with the fatman or modded weapons that shoot nukes without editing the weapons themselves. I did a quick search and didn't turn up anything. But i wouldn't be surprised if it had already been made. This would perhaps make a problem of it being difficult to have the nuke land where you wanted it. With the regular nukes, 'lobbing' them guarantees they'll hit the ground, but with a straight-ish rocket trajectory, if you aren't above your target, getting them to blow up where you need them without a direct hit on an enemy might be more of an issue. Maybe detonation when you sheathe the weapon or tap reload or something if you want to got for a more manual solution? But anyway, that was my thought on the matter of needing nukes to go further.. Their arc did always feel a bit too short.
