well I feel sorry for the people at F4se to constantly having to update f4se because of bethesda. I come home from a family trip and got new update then today another one. Is someone at Beth upset with f4se lol

No, it's just really hard to give mod support for a mod that uses a separate launcher from the base game's. Has nothing to do with Bethesda liking it or not, it has to do with due to the complex nature of the mod and the fact it uses a separate launcher from the base one means it will, of course, cause problems when the game updates.

Save on exit? What happens if I don't want to save at that point (e.g. did something really stupid. Or just messing around. Or got glitched into the terrain. Or something).

Anyway to disable that?

I always "qqq" anyways.

In that case. left Alt + F4 keys. instant out.

This is really bothersome. I think I'll set Steam properties for the game to "Only update this game when I launch it". Since I start via F4SE, that should prevent the game from updating until I'm ready.

At least, that's the theory.

I did that too - except that when Steam Updates, it defaults back to "Default Settings", I found that out today, as I was going, "Why did this happen? I had it set to NOT happen!!"

Steam reset it. :wallbash:

I had that problem too for ages. Deleting the config folder within user data fixed it. Must have been a funky file within there. Steam hasn't reset that setting since ;)

Normally I always play with Steam off-line. Forgot it once and got ambushed by a feral patch. Fortunately it was no big deal. Only cost me two mods. But I remember.......... :pinch: Running a rock solid 1.04 and I dread for the day I have to catch up on the patches for some reason

For the longest time, any exit option on Skyrim would take FOREVER. So I started QQQ then and have never stopped. It is now a reflex.

There is a way to disable it ... sort of.

Open your Pip-Boy, then choose "Quit"

You get a popup saying there won't be a save.

It's an entirely new save that won't touch any existing saves except the previous exitsave. You don't even need to load the exitsave, it's literally not a problem to blow up about.
