Ultimatepurge
I personally enjoyed the unified art style that skyrim presents and have no problem with the meshes/textures.In my personal opinion, women look a bit too good he he. But it's not that super important to get fixed. But I think people should be entitled to like what they want. If they want mods that do not fit in with the Skyrim artstyle or perhaps strive for another look, and there is a definite following, I don't know. They should do what makes them happy. Thankfully for us who like our game to look 'natural' there's modders who will try their best to stick with Skyrims artstyle and atmosphere. Vindekarr
Ever been to Norway? or Scotland? freezing cold, frequently bucketing down with rain, and with a wind-chill factor something aweful. Now, I do normaly believe in live n let live, but frankly the endless parade of "oversexualised and under-legal-age asian "woman"(child) in microkini" mods eventualy got to the point that I started making my own race and armour mods so I wouldn't have to face my fear of catgirls. Now, if you like that sort of thing, or even make that sort of thing, that's your perogative, it's a free country and getting annoyed at people for having diferent tastes is about the most moronic thing possible, but that doesn't mean I use them In the middle ages there was no hair shampoo, no hot shower, no manicurist, and none of the mountain of hair-styling products required to create a Ren's or Saram style hair-do. Me, I like a good hair mod as much as anyone, but it seems pretty unlikely you could create something along those lines using the "products" they used back then. (and don't say "it's a fantasy world" have YOU seen a hairdresser or bottle of Loreal Paris here? or even a bath? XD) And what's more, this is Skyrim. I've been to alpine climates, I live in the Australian Alps, and you wouldn't strut around in a bikini here unless you wanted to become a meat-popsickle. The air is cold, but one thing you need to know about cold countries is wind-chill. Wind-Chill comes from wind, that chills you. Why? because having air blow on you is always cool(as in fans/aircon) and when the air blowing on you is only positive five farenheit, it becomes a whole discomfort unto itself. High wind-chill on bare skin, especialy sensitive parts like your nose, eyelids, earlobes, and virtualy any other nerve-clustered body part is not so much cold, but an intense physical pain. Wind chill hurts, folks, if you don't beleieve me, wait till winter, go above the snowline, then stand in the windiest place you can find in your undies, it hurts. It also dries your skin out-cracked/split lips and patches of dead skin aren't uncommon in winter here because wind-chill will essentialy freeze-dry you while the snow clusters on you and melts, creating water, and as a result of simple physics, making the wind chill even more painful and angerous. And that's bloody Australia, only a few days of snow each year, try living in Permafrost, like Skyrim, and it becomes deadly dangerous.. Bottom line is-if they think it's fun to play in the snow as home nightmare enducing cosplay catgirl in a g-string, they should try playing in the snow in a G-string, it's cold enough as it is in clothes. Ultimatepurge
Oh yeah, you woulnd't have a good time on a snowy windy mountain your face uncovered even.Heh, you know what I want? A more clothes mod for Skyrim. Because some characters are wayyy to lightly clad for where they are. Vindekarr
If you've ever wondered why the Soviet Union had those huge Ushanka fur hats as standard uniform, chances are you've never been skiing... If you're looking to make a lore-fitting clothes mod, the material for any good snow gear is non-porous, so leather, hide, fur, other some other form of membrane. Fur hats with a layer of leather, like a proper Russian fur hat, are astonishingly warm for their thickness(and comfy too)

Robynah
Where is the colovian hat! - and re the original topic. If you go back a few centuries beautiful meant either looking young and 'rosy cheeked' (for both male and female) or 'handsome' (again male and female) so you stood out even if you were covered in sh-t. Nowadays even fugly people can look good if they work out and turn their skin orange and their teeth ultraviolet... or at least they think they do :P Edited November 19, 2011 by Robynah

It's a fantasy world.... /trollface In all seriousness though, it's not unthinkable for there to be spells or enchantments for hygiene. They never really discuss whether or not mages use spells for convenience like this.
NewmanLim
Character design wise I don't have any complain aside from the block texture which is now fixed from mod..........I mean if people like smooth and dolly texture they can just mod one or wait for a mod to come out once the creation kit is done. NAPALM13092
I actually like the NPC's in Skyrim quite a bit. They for the most part look realistic for the setting. You live without modern technologies since child birth in a harsh arctic landscape doing manual labor to get by and see how you look. The fact my Orc berserker and Nord warrior has a little dirt on his and her skin and their hair looks like it needs a wash looks far more heroic then some super clean elf with lip gloss and earrings if you ask me. Besides down to earth chicks that can rough it are hotter than some dolled up bimbo supermodel anyway if you ask me. Xydonus
Agreed with OP, quite amusing to see mods that make characters look like Barbie and Ken... Characters in Skyrim look amazing regardless of what others might say.
