ogridum
The SPEED AND NOISE penalty of heavy armor CAN BE NEUTRALIZED with perk that makes you move as fast unarmored + muffle enchant on boots or magic. So yeah, once you get both of the above, there is no reason to go light armor, other than... "looks good". It needs like 2 useless perks to get the speed one (the one that gives punches more damage, and the one that reduces fall damage, both I never need, but 3 perks for making it fast is worth it. Movement speed is the most important thing in any twitch based games, any serious players should have realized this by now. You can have the best of both worlds on heavy armor too, speed and silence of light armor, with the ridiculousness of the heavy armor rate. If you get all perks for heavy, the heaviest hitting enemy on the game at master difficulty will only do 1/10 or so of your health bar without blocking anything. BarefootWarrior
I prefer light armor (if any) because I tend to go for the archery and single hand skills, such as sword / dual wielding. And the light armor usually looks better to me such as leather or some chain mail. I have not seen any chain mail in this game how ever. It' s all about what you as the player prefers. Without armor or minimal armor, to me the game is more challenging and I have to rely on other skills to get through the game. So far, I'm not doing all that well..LOL! But that's ok, I'm still having a great time.
csgators
I haven't even tried the heavy armor in Skyrim, I just remember the clunky feel of it from Oblivion and I didn't like it at all.
marharth
1. It weighs a lot less, better for looting. 2. You move faster and better and drain less stamina. 3. You make less noise.
JimboUK
I'm not a fan of heavy armour at all, I much prefer dodging to slugging it out.
xaliqen
As an archer assassin, heavy armor is superfluous. An ideal archer needs no armor at all.
