Garnn
Well, turns out the first dragon you fight has a corpse that seems to not go away. Doesn't regenerate it's contents either, so you basically can store anything in it. It doesn't go away, right.......?
JimboUK
It's not in my game any more.
LoloPinky
It's not in my game anymore either. I think everything in my game reset a couple of days ago. There were a few bandits on the road to High Hrothgar I killed that are also gone and a troll just before Ivarstead. There's more, but those came to my head first. Snowsong
Yes, it does go away after a while. One day you'll return and it will be gone. :ermm:
HornedOni
According to what I read elsewhere, corpses despawn after around ten ingame days.
Dreadarm
I just put my things in the barrel outside the blacksmiths shop in whiterun, have gone from level 1 - 35 and never lost a thing.
Roane
In my game, it goes away, it comes back, always in a new spot. Right in front of the Whiterun gate. In the river in front of one of the farms (but only the head visible, guess the rest is buried in the sand). Next to the carriage. In the Khajiit camp. Pineapplerum
That sounds a little risky. Just use the cheat code to carryweight 5000 and you won't need to use a dead dragon's body for storage.
Vagrant0
Only safe containers are the ones in your purchased home. Really doesn't take much money to buy the house in Whiterun and upgrade the bedroom. Nearly every cell resets after about a month, including most dungeons. James009
Whiterun, FTW. You can store things anywhere for a couple days but they will be taken/vanish. I once dropped a bunch of weapons and armor outside a road, came 4-5 days later, and recovered it.
