dual wielding weapons and using favorites - please help

so, 2 things:

 

first, why can't i equip my newly crafted and upgraded daedric daggers at once using the quickbuttons (1-8)? as in, i assign them to number 1, hit 1 once which equips one dagger, hit it again to equip it to my left hand, and instead of doing so it unequips the first dagger from my right hand. it also erases the binding. pretty crucial as i'm a sneak dual wielder... any help? seems like a bug and i'd hate to have spent so much time leveling up smithing and enchanting then finding daedra hearts to not be able to use them. it has worked with every other dagger (though those have been found and unupgraded). with those i've been able to double tap 1 if i'm using 2 spells or something and it dual wields.

 

second, how do you dual wield two different weapons? using numbers only i mean... it entirely breaks the immersion to have to go to the favorites menu after using a spell to re-equip my left hand weapon.

 

any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

 

edit:

 

loaded a save and crafted two daedric daggers. works fine as i described above, dual wielding no problem using bindings... however once i upgraded them, the above happens.

This is a problem I have noticed as well. Would love to know if anyone has found a way around this, or better yet, solved it.

Try to assign your daggers to different numbers, as they are two different weapons. Another goes to number 1 and another to number 2 for example and when you want to use them tap 1,2 fast. The same goes with different spells.

 

At least thats what happens in my game. I really hate that we only have numbers 1-8 to use as quickbuttons..

 

EDIT: I think I spoke too soon, you may be right about the bug. I have to test it out myself. (haven't used two equally enchanted weapons yet)

i tried that, for me the second dagger (tried two different daggers) ends up being the one equipped in my right hand. even tried with two different types of daggers.

 

i can't believe that you can't use, say a sword in your right hand and a dagger in your left, then switch to a healing spell with your left hand, then back to that dagger in your left hand without going into any menus.

It'd be nice if we could map the hot keys to certain hands. Map a dagger to the one key to your left, and a sword to your right with another.

 

In fact, set a dual-wield set up to one key, grab a sword and dagger with the 1 key, healing spells in both hands with the 2 key.

been looking on other forums, seems to be broken... which to me is close to game breaking on a game that puts so much emphasis on dual wield. spent hours leveling crafting stuff, and now i can't dual wield my weapons and use spells in combat? without going to the inventory screen?

been working on this for about an hour, the best solution i've found is to favorite both daggers, to say 1 and 2. then say i have healing on 3 and want to heal... hit 3, heal, then to get the dagger back in my left hand i hit q (favorites menu for me), right click to equip to left hand, and hit q again. of course if i want to dual cast heal i have to hit 1 q right click q to get it back. and i have to leave the left hand dagger selected in the favorites menu to be able to do it seamlessly... better than nothing i guess right?

I find that the easiest way now is to double tap a magic hotkey for dual casting, having one weapon favourited and just putting the left weapon in the left hand from the favourites menu manually after equipping the right one from a hotkey.
