maboru
Right, that's the re-compiled FN4gb from FONV, works great in that game, should work great in this one to. It fools Steam through an automatic work around. Silverlock even offers a script extender attachment for it so I'm sure they will for Skyrim as well. When I'm forced to go back to Steam for the REAL patches I'll install it then.
on0bi
Okay, he's a thread from the Beth forums that explains what happened (sort of!) - http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1284360-concerning-the-small-patch-through-steam-today/page__st__100 Guess I'm not the only one who thought they unintentionally added the feature to do so, saw it, and removed it. Then there was one guy who said he had a registry fix to get it to work regardless of the patch (which his how I understood it, correct me if I'm wrong). But it only seemed to work for him. I just don't understand why some publishers/developers do this sort of thing. If there's a third party fix the community found and it does NO HARM at all, why fight it? What are you going to get out of doing that except for angering everyone? Sometimes I just don't understand :wallbash: lol when i do that, i get "Error code 51" and i can't even start the game up. maboru
Come to think of it I don't imagine the Xboxers with the 4gb rigs are very happy with this turn of events either. (And the game was written for Xbox!)
isamu99
There is a LAA patch in the downloads sectin, link below, that I have found will work. At least it stopped my constant CTD problems with the new EXE. http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013 Thanks for the link I'll try this now. Personally, v1.1 of his 4GB patcher didn't work for me last night. v1.3 this afternoon worked perfectly for me and went without a CTD all day. It will not work for all 100% of you, but it will work for the majority. Unless that 4GB patcher refuses to work for you, wait for a new version upload of it and use what I said in page 1 meantime. I had to do precisely that for a bit.
isamu99
Yup, didn't crash for me in 6 hours of play! Only thing it did was one time it minimized my window so I had to alt-tab back in but that was probably something else running on my PC that triggered that. Thanks guys awesome work!
