scot
Found my own fix. Loaded steam, went to game library, right click on skyrim, properties, local game files, validated game file for skyrim. I no longer have the shakes of withdrawal. Thank you so much :) it works. FryingNemo
I will point out that this game never used to crash for me and now its crashing like once every 45 minutes or so after having gone through this whole issue. I hope they can get that patch going a bit sooner. Thats if it even has anything containing fixes for these issues.

steroid89
I see some irony in all of this... i was happily playing the pirated version of skyrim from torrents... for about 40 hours... it was just fine, untill i added too many landscape mods, it started crashing...**SNIP** EDIT by LHammonds: That's all you needed to say. Goodbye.

Johny Obliv
I have this problem now too. I had been playing the game just fine for a week, and today it just stopped working. When I launch the game in Steam, the launching message from steam comes up, but then it disappears again after a while, without starting up my game. I tried verifying the local content, but it changed nothing. Has anyone got more ideas maybe?

Try start steam as administrator or if you have a back up of the TESV.exe then put it back into the data folder.

I remember Spacemarines, bought it for PS3 right on release. Couldn't play multiplayer for month until they released a patch fixing the "searching for matches" function. Add onto that, the consummate terrible experiences I've had with Steam (try taking a laptop with steam on it to a country without internet support and try playing your games in offline mode, talk about being frustrated). To me, it sounds like it's about time for the gaming community to "Occupy Steam" (lol). I mean seriously, if you've bought the game, like 90% of us then we don't need to be constantly validating the fact that we have purchased the game, especially from retail. bben46
Steam automatically 'patched' :wallbash: the Skyrim Tesv.exe on Monday Nov 22 - breaking the game for many people. If you have a backup, copy the old tesv.exe back into the folder. If not, Please do not either ask for someone to post tesv.exe here, or post it here as that is a copyrighted file and illegal to share. However, be aware that when Beth eventually patches the game, that Nov 22 patch will probably be included. So if you can find a way to get the game to work with the patch, you will probably be better off. Bben46, Moderator
CNash
Well I can't tolerate having steam running anyway, with it on at all (even in offline) it hogs my ram like all hell. Guess i'll have to go on piratebay or something and get a cracked launcher. And on games getting buggier and buggier- I think it's out of laziness. Now that it's so easy to patch a game after release, they're not being nearly as vigilant beforehand. Why do more work when you can give your customers a broken product and fix it later?
