Nylithea
Well i was trying to change the texture on the Hide armor, following some tutorial found here, but i've just met with a small problem and i just don't get it. When i try to remove a part of the texture sometimes there will be skin under it and that's fine, but some time it just go straight to transparent and no texture of skin or whatsoever come to replace it i just see through my character... But i've see some mods like the wolf armor or the glass one http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=397 They seems to be able to remove part of the texture to let the skin be shown, but in my case there's just nothing under like i said earlier >.< Did i need to do something more to let the skin appear? Thx for the help ^^"
MShoap13
Typically, removing parts of an armor should be done by altering the mesh, not the texture. I'm currently unaware of a way to do mesh work for Skyrim as the updated .nif format for the Creation engine hasn't been decoded yet. If you must, try contacting the author(s) of the mod(s) who have removed parts of an armor and see if they have any tips. They may have just gotten lucky with their retexture though, as sometimes removing pieces of the textures works and sometimes it doesn't (like you've experienced),
DavidD
You CAN change the mesh, open it in NifSkope and then save it as an .obj file. Do whatever you want to do and then paste it over the node in NifSkope. It's quite tedious especially now before NifSkope + NifScrips are updated.
