Mawel
the goal is to make the chachter equip both melee weapons and a bow at the same time, so that u see your bow equipped while u beat up sme monsters with a warhammer. when two onehanded weapons are equipped, both should be seen when they are sheathed. also staffs and potion coul be added but they probably lack hardpoints for this. there are two things that woul favor and probably make the mod quite easy. 1. every weapon type (bow, twohanded, onehanded, arrows) has obviously its own hardpoint on the armor mesh (still lots of gitches with most armors though). if several weapon types were equipped they wouldn't interfere.2. the quiver is hat the status of a weapon but stays equiped even though the bow is not, maybe there is an easy way to change other weapons into being equipped indepentantly from eachother. possible problems: there seems to be no hardpoint on armors for the offhand weapon, adding it would require to edit the mesh of each armor. additionally we should also remove the glitches from armors (daedric armor with two handed weapons, scale armor, dragonplate armor etc.) my major problem is that i have little skills in editing meshes (the last mesh i edited was in freelancer) and too little time to learn it the hard way (try & error). is there an easy way to export, modify and import back the meshes? maybe there are some modders resources in form of extracted meshes or maybe a useful tool? thanks in advance for useful comments :)

topeira
I love the idea. But how will u control it? It seems like u can, naturally, carry one weapon on your back (two handed or bow) and 2 weapons on your belt (swords on left side. Axes qnd maces on right side). So the way i see it the game should keep your last played weapon on the armor if u switch to a weapon from a different slot. So if u r using a bow and switch to a one banded than the bow stays. But if u switch from a bow to a two handed than i would guess the bow will disappear. I am afraid a bow+2 handed will look wierd together. But amny ppl would also love a way to holster shield on back mod. If u can make a weapons mod than surely u can make a shield-on-back mod as well. But how would the shield fit with everything else? Also once a weapon is shown on the armor, how can the player take it off if he wants to? Just some food for thought :P Edited November 23, 2011 by topeira

[...] i would aggree if the quiver would disappear along with the bow but it doesn't. the quiver is listed under weapons, but this may also be a bug as it works like apparel. to the contol: this coul be a problem if equipping a weapon is equal to unsheathing the weapon. but as there is a separate control for sheathe/unsheathe i suppose that it is doable. we may need some support from the pistol holster guys from fallout. i also checked the glitching problen and it appears to me that the quiver is always placed between your twohand weapon and your bow, so no problem here.as far as ive looked at the game u wont need to mess around in the meshes, some extra hardpoints for the offhand would suffice. i'd put both onehand swords on the same side (samurai-style) so that they wont collide with axes and maces. to round the mod up some new animations would be fancy but i dont know how to do that. these are but details which will become interesting as soon as the other problems are solved. i can't do anything without the creation kit, my moddings skills are very limited. i hoped that someone has already looked into this problem, i'm not the first one with this idea. KillerHappyFace
It should be reasonably easy to tell the game to remember the last equipped item of various weapon types for the 3 main hardpoints. So the last 1-H sword, the last 1-H axe or mace, and the last 2-H weapon would all be saved, and if it's still in your inventory it gets rendered by your side or on your back. Augustyn666
While we're on topic of weapon visibility, would it be cool if there was a cosmetic option for an arrow quiver attached to the waist that made the default back-mounted quiver disappear? EricTheLuminant
I have a guide on how to accomplish what you desire, more or less. Here! It's a bit rough and tumble, but it may hold your craving for character appearance over until we get the creation kit. Good luck to those who can find a better method or create the mod that will allow this! Edited November 26, 2011 by EricTheLuminant
Wintercross
My understanding is you need the weapon sheath node on the skeleton, not the armor mesh.Much less time consuming =P Remains to be seen if this can be done, but I'm pretty hopeful as there was Sheilds on back mods, and UV also had sheathing the offhand weapon on your back. whitemarty
There might be roundabout i don't understand scripts at all but i know that my character keeps equiped arrows on his back all the time, so to add bow shouldn't be different right ?
