LordNyron
I'll probably download it and play it vanilla at least once(Because the mods I have installed on my Legendary Edition keep distracting me from playing the damn game.). As far as mods are concerned, I'll definitely need SKSE and SkyUI before I do anything heavy. Sadly the latter will need to be adopted because the SkyUI team has come out and said they won't be porting it to Special Edition.
magus55x
Anyone have any idea how long it would take to recompile SKSE and SKYUI into 64 bit, and if the people who made them have any plans on doing it?? Days? Weeks? Months? 2018? From what I've been reading it seems most mods that were made for skyrim should be compatible with SE, provided that the base programs above and others get remade. As for SkyUI, I imagine it might just need to be rerun through the Creation Kit, but that will have to be done by a third party because the SkyUI team has no plans to update the mod for Special Edition, which is disappointing considering how important it is to many mods. Pretty much everything that has an ESP will probably need to be rerun through the creation kit. Not sure about mods without ESP's, those might be fully compatible at launch. Netherworks
That's what I was thinking as well. The SkyUI script(s) might need to be recompiled. A lot of it is .swf files, which I don't believe would be affected. Unless the core scripting has changed, I would think that the SKSE dll's just need to be recompiled for 64 bit (and possibly remove the memory patch, if it isn't needed). Moksha8088
I am hoping that both the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions can be installed simultaneously. It would be fun to try the 64-bit version and hope that it would prove more stable, but I realize my favorite mods probably will not work with it. Being able to try the new model without FUBARing the 32-bit mod loaded version would be great.

I couldn't remember if Special Edition was actually a separate game or if, for the people who get it free on PC, it was an update. Like if you didn't have Skyrim - Legendary Edition already, it's a separate game, but if you get it free it turns into an update. I mean, if it is separate then great, I can mod LE to my hearts content and use SE for casual playthroughs without distractions.
