draedic
I went to disenchant the apprentice robes of destruction. Before I disenchanted them the stats were 15% destruction and 50% regen. Now it's like 5% and 10% regen. Just trying to understand why. Does it have something to do with my enchanting level? I'm a mage and want to wear light armor so I want to put the same stats as the robe on the light armor. Any help here?
invertedpanda
The percentage/power of the enchantment is related to your skill level and the soul gem used to enchant it.
Deleted3158906User
When you enchant your own armour, it sort of "reflects" your own skill in enchanting with the amount of power your own enchant has. A piece of armour enchanted by a 100 enchanter will be a stronger enchantment than one made by a 10 enchanter. There are also perks that will make them stronger. f4ijunkie
I disenchanted an item when I was a low level, I had a robe with 50% magik re-gen, it went to 20%, I was low level like 15, ok. Now I'm at level 55, I have a robe that is 100% magik re-gen, I can't disenchant it AT ALL because I already have a magic reigen slot stuck with the 20%?? Seriously? That's bull, all that work leveling up, then spending my gold on the robe, I can't even extract the better enchantment and upgrade so I can enchant armor. What a crappy upgrading system. Unless I'm missing something here... Edited November 28, 2011 by f4ijunkie

So you cant disenchant an item if you already learned the enchant, it would be useless. The power of the enchant comes from you enchanting skill + perks + the type of soulgem you use. So get a high skillnumber, get the perks you want and use grand soul gems or black soul gems (filled with grand souls) to get the best possible enchant. Also you can raise your enchant skill temp by using a fortify enchant potion just prior.
tankie
Not sure if this is a spoiler, but you should drop by Azuras shrine for a related mission. Edited November 28, 2011 by tankie
NephilimNexus
Not sure if this is a spoiler, but you should drop by Azuras shrine for a related mission. That's no spoiler, Azura's Star dates all the way back to Morrowind, at least. That's about as much of a spoiler as saying that Vader is actually Luke's father.
