Blood on the Ice-Bugged

Alright, Here we go. I stared this quest several different times before looking it up on the Wiki UESP.com. Every time I start the quest, I get to the point where you need to talk to Viola Giordana. I wait outside her house until 8am-9am a million times, and have even ventured into her home at like 2am when she should be asleep. Not there, ever.... I cant complete the quest. **I am a quest completionist type of person.** Anyone have any ideas as to what to do? I read somewhere, it escapes me where at the time, that if you have done the Dark Brotherhood questline that the entire quest can become bugged. OOPS, I did it and own Dawnstar Sanctuary now. No clues as to how to fix it. Even tried *gasps* The console to advance the quest with a no-go. I personally hate cheaters, but I do enjoy a good mod or two to make the game more realistic. If anyone has any advice short of starting a new toon, I would be highly grateful. And hopefully Bethesda will hurry the **** up with the CK so we all can start making new areas/quests/mods/whatever for our playing enjoyment

It's a bugged quest. There's nothing you can do about it unless you know how to mod and can find / fix all the errors. I would have suggested using the console, but considering you've already tried - all you can do is wait for the patch or simply move on.

I had the same problem, but a bit different. I didn't do the dark brotherhood quests, but i DID take the quest from the dark elf shopkeeper to break into her house. After that, she didn't appear.

 

I used the console to make Viola appear in front of me, using the following command:

player.placeatme 00014129

It should place Viola at your position, and she SHOULD go about her normal routine. If that code doesn't work, use

player.placeatme 0001B13C

 

I hope this helps, it worked for me.

 

edit: Oh, and it may be obvious, but i might as well say it: You shouldn't spawn her inside her house, she might report you as trespassing. I'd do it on the street outside her house.
