noname_1985
Hello Everyone, I am having this problem with all the NPC's and my character in skyrim(especially visible on females), where the face color is different from the rest of the body. It is not too drastically different, but different enough to be noticed. Here is a list of texture mods I am using:No More Blocky Faces - http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=30Detailed faces V2 - http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26Proper clean female bodies - http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=43Smooth female face and bodies - http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=140 The thing is, even if I remove the textures folder from the game directory, I can still see the difference in color. Do any of you have a problem like this. Any help is much appreciated. I have added a picture below. Thanks
Hellspawn_aka_Lonewolf
Hi there, I am experiencing the same "issue", though I just have "No More Blocky Faces", "Detailed faces V2" and "Nude females 1.3" mods, plus "Better Beast Races" (which I do not think could have an impact :P) Thank you for any support! BarefootWarrior
There are separate textures for the face and body and one or the other is a shade off in color. I ran into this when i did a mod for DA2 while back and it took some work to get my new skin to match the default face textures in the game. Chances are, who ever created the mod, changed the hue or color of the texture slightly and that is why you see it. Further, they may not have created new normal maps for the new texture and that could change the hue as well. Keep in mind that I am a novice modder, but I do a lot of work in Photoshop and I have created textures for other purposes. This is what this problem looks like to me.
Hellspawn_aka_Lonewolf
I see, but which mod is creating this issue in your opinion? I guess this was not present in vanilla game? I actually do not know, because I already started with these new mods in-game :P
davidxcore
I have the same problem =/ http://i.imgur.com/TTIgy.jpg Same mods installed as well. Deleting all of those don't see to help now.
MShoap13
On top of the potential for shades and hues to be slightly off of one another for the two textures, even more disparity between the colors is created in-game due to the way lighting is handled. Two different textures that are really close can have pretty drastically different appearances due to how the engine handles their lighting, and with lighting position is everything. We've seen this minor issue carry over all the way from Oblivion and it will probably be in FO4 or TES6...
noname_1985
I see, but which mod is creating this issue in your opinion? I guess this was not present in vanilla game? I actually do not know, because I already started with these new mods in-game :P Not just deleting the mods, but reinstalling the whole game also did not help. I did use the same saves on the new install though.

Yeah I know, but that does not make sense though.....i mean when you delete the mods, you are basically reverting back to the vanilla textures right? @BarefootWarrior - Hey, do you remember what you did for the other games to match the color. If it is not too hard to explain, could you tell me?
Vannus
Further, they may not have created new normal maps for the new texture and that could change the hue as well.I don't have too much experience with normal maps, but from my knowledge I don't think this would be the case, considering what normal maps actually do and how they work. A normal map is very similar to a bump map, except it uses RGB values (instead of Greyscale) to represent the 'depth' when rendering the texture. As all that normal maps do—like bump maps—is alter the render depth, they shouldn't have an affect on the hue. That being said, if a texture is drastically changed (particularly regarding detail) and the normal map isn't, there is a chance the depth detail will be out of place and not match the new texture. So, indeed, things may look wrong, just not likely (or even possibly) the hue. If I'm wrong, I welcome someone to correct me :)
throttlekitty
I think I saw similar threads elsewhere, and this is troubling. Sounds almost like composited textures for the player character are also kept in the save file. Needs further investigation.
