It think playing as Imperial gives you better armour, not sure on that though. On the other hand I've always wanted to go all Roman Imperial Legion on people. Imagine my disappointment when the biggest battle I had amounted to 20 troops on each side. More like a large brawl than a proper battle.

Okay, let me just say this... I am so irritated of how the only thing people want to talk about in skyrim is " <whinning> Oh my goossshhh... the war is terrible! i wish it would just eeeennnndddd!!!!!! ASAP!!!!". So, i'ma join one of the two sides and put an end to this gods-damned war so people would shutup about it.

Only problem is, who do i join? Imperials or stormcloaks? I'm an Imperial so i should probably stand with my fellow brothers and sisters of cyrodiil. but then again.... the stormcloaks just want to be able to have their home back, the bloody imperials took it away from them! So apparently, in my point of view, imperial legion is evil!!

But if i join the stormcloaks, i'd be betraying my heritage... I'm not sure my ancestors (morrowind and oblivion charecters) would approve of it...

So, who should i join? the imperial legion? or the stormy cloaks?

fixed a typo and higlighted it in red :P

The game doesn't seem to check if those quests are complete for conversation options, so I fear joining a side will not cause people to stop talking about it as you wish.

In my second character this was one of the first quest lines I did. Got those evil stormcloaks out of the way nice and early, but I still walk past people in Riften for example talking to each other saying they are worried about the Imperials invading, even though the war is long over and there's and Imperial soldier standing right next to them. I am also still able to ask people who's side their on, and they often talk of what they think of Ulfric's intentions even though he's long dead.

POSSIBLE SPOILER. IT IS REALLY JUST INFORMATION.

The Thalmors are the evil rulers, right? In the Thalmor dossiers on the Stormcloaks and Imperials and others, the Thalmors wrote that they wouldn't mind anyone taking over -- except the Stormcloaks. This, to me, means that the Stormcloaks are more right than the Imperials. So, I went with the Stormcloaks. Am I better off today? Beats me.

for me, i seem to be one of the only few that see the true reason why the sons and daughters of skyrim are fighting in the first place, and if i'm not - then no one is mentioning it. - i joined the stormcloaks for one main reason. even though i do not agree with ANY warfare as a means to an end, what i hate more (probably the most) is that people throughout tamriel are being forced to give up their religion and are being secretly captured and tortured just for believing in talos. and for what? all because those dammed aylied descendants not only believe, but also force down everyone's throats that not only are they superior to all men, but one could never rise to god-hood, and that men certainly don't go to aetheria (heaven). they will even go so far as to enslave the whole race of the bosmer and dissolve them into the thalmor to serve in their religious oppression (as indicated by talking to a random thalmor in the keep in marcarth). this hits home even harder when taking in consideration that my favorite race has always been nord - the true forefathers of ALL men, and where we truly came from. - and I would just as soon be swept away to sovengaurd itself before i allow a on-his-high-horse high elf to tell me i can't worshop the mighty talos stormcrown, because without him, the dragons would have kept us as slaves until the very day the world itself ebbed away. SO RISE UP MY FELLOW BROTHERS AND SISTERS OF THE SKY! - and next time an altmeri tells you who you can, and cannot worship - send him reeling to akatosh himself with your very voice!

To me, the Imperials have always been bad news. However, the Stormcloaks, or at least Ulfric, don't seem any better. Were the tables turned, in the beginning, you'd still be walking to the block. This is Tamriel, everyone's "the bad guy". I figured, Nords should rule Nords(even though they stole it), so I went Stormcloak. Seemed better than pompous, arrogant, lazy bastard Imperials, but not by much.

I'd much preffer freedom to exist at all, regardless of who your parents were, which probably should come before freedom of religion. Those stormcloaks seem to me to be medieval kkk.

Me, when I finaly get to face down Ulfric, I want to yell STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM! or STOP!!! YOU VIOLATED THE LAW!!! Just because I would find that side splittingly funny-you get the Empire offside, and you better STOP!!! right there, cause you're criminal scum, and they're gonna make you pay with your blood

But me, I read as much in-game backstory as I could beforehand, and I won't reveal ANYTHING here except that the Empire didn't just bow down to the Thalmor, they went down fighting in an epic way, read The Great War and The Rising Threat series for more.(Check the library in Winterhold if you can't find em, they're longish, but worth the read to catch you up, frankly those books should be in the tutorial somewhere)

And anyway, Solitude's just a really beuatiful city, I couldn't bare to knock it down.
