Hi all,

Just gotta say im mega excited with skyrim and the buzz in the modding community, only i gotta say its making me not wanting to play it untill they got some stable high res packs and mods, feel like im gonna be missing out on a lot of first time wows.

I just cant bring myself to play it with WIP textures/mods ruins the atmosphere for me.

Anyways just thought id break the ice with my first post :whistling:

It's not stopping me.

The way I see it, I will appreciate the modder's work even more since I will know what the vanilla game is like.

I'm not modding anything until I've played through the game once. This will also give the modders time to work their magic. I've have yet to mod Fallout either. I can do that after I've finished with my firs play-through of Skyrim, there should be some great well-tested mods ready when I return to Skyrim. I guess the first DLC will be ready too.

I like to play through the vanilla game at least once before I add anything other than graphical improvements.

Yer i think ill be doing the same, i never play through a game twice but i can deffinately see this being played till the next elders scrolls is realeased with all the goodies and mods/dlc to come.

There are actually a number of great graphics mods out there; between those and .ini tweaks you can up the quality of the game 10x. Here, check this out. I followed some of the advice and installed a few of these; Bam! huge improvement.

Of course, if you just wanna wait for the content, I can understand that =D I'd just personally recommend a vanilla playthrough first, if only to see what you think needs fixing.

the texture mods are great but i took them off since they make me crash due to beth's uncanny ability to make a buggy game release. Hopping the week after the american thanksgiving the fixes to the PC version will include 4g ram running to increase sustainability for mods, and get rid of the crashing. after that I think the mods will get A LOT BETTER.
