In-game mod system, versus nexus mods

I noticed when using the in-game mod system built into the game it disables achievements.

What are the differences in using the built in modding system, and manually modding using nexus mod manager or just manually doing it through this website?

Also, if you do it through this website or nexus mod manager does it disable achievements that way too?

Thoughts?

Why do people care so much about achievements? This a twitch tv thing or what?

More like an OCD thing, I believe. At least I know a guy for whom it is like that :D

I still prefer Nexus, though. It's been around longer, also, there was all this mod theft drama... And I like the nexus website better, at least it doesn't look like some mobile app store ripoff and doesn't take half an hour to load (usually). Also, seeing how the most popular mods on bethesda.net are things like "cheat terminal", "cheat room", "unlimited crafting supplies", I doubt I'm it's the target audience.

Btw, is it possible to use that in-game system to install mods which you just downloaded as a zip?

Nope. The only way to install a mod via the in-game "function" is to download it from Bethesda's site.

IMHO, unless the mod you want is, for some reason, only available through Bethesda's system, you're far better off sticking to sites like the Nexus or even ModDB, and installing all your mods either manually or via NMM/MO or whatever other tool(s) exist for that purpose.

I noticed the ingame mod system when I first loaded up the game and then went to nexus and used its system and didn't look back
the mod system notices the stuff nexus mod thing puts up though I noticed recently, I don't think it used to or something

neat, still using NMM though
apparently the old fashioned way of making mods work without a manager is slightly more efficient and effective if you know what you're doing, but you see, I barely do so I'll continue using NMM :D

More like giving the middle finger to the Devs. I don't care about achievements. I do care about them arbitrarily stripping out content to please console manufacturers.
