domanz
Hi, does anyone else think that vanilla beast form is way underpowered? I play on master with a lvl 29 mixture of 1h/block/sneak/archery character and I die within seconds as a were where I would have won a battle as a human. For example the whiterun city guard killed me in 10 seconds, while I could already win against them. Even considering that I can't use potions as a were, I would last longer as human even without the use of potions. Something is wrong here. Isn't a werewolf something to be feared, rather than something that gets slain easily? I have to admit I didn't look into werewolf mods yet, but vanilla is definitely unusable. Iv000
I'm not sure if you are doing this, but you have to feed on dead bodies while you are in beast form. When you kill someone, point at their body and press E, that should regenerate your health by quite a bit and give you more time in beast form.I think it's quite enjoyable, and not underpowered at all. Robynah
Do you use the werewolf's fear power? i.e. press 'z'
domanz
Yes I do all that. I know the mechanics. I just have the feeling that when you up the difficulty of the game in the settings, the beast form gets more and more useless, because enemies get much stronger and the player lacks the protection of his armor and the power of his weapon. But maybe I have to try it more often. Hell I even got pounded by 3 mages once, only got to kill one before the other 2 took me down. Would have expected a werewolf to cleave through mages like they were nothing. ^^ Edited November 26, 2011 by domanz
InuyashaFE
Hm yeah I think the best thing to do would be to increase their armor rating based on their heavy/light armor, and two/one-handed skills, whichever is higher. That way your power would scale with you and you wouldn't end up being underpowered.
domanz
Yeah, something like that. I mean, if they don't do it, it's just a disease which adds resistance from other diseases, good enough but not very werewolf-ish.
GodofPeace
I understand what you mean. I started playing as experted then upped to master and at first I also thought that the beast form was underpowered, but then I started to experiment with it. And I realized that if you do a "forward charge attack" (you know .... pressing forward while doing a charge attack), you can send normal size enemies flying, incapacitating the more annoying enemies while you slaughter the rest.... or just attack the incapacitated enemy itself... works either way. You can also mixture some cloak and armor spells to add some damage and resistance... that and a blazing werewolf is freaking cool. Oh... and sorry fo grammar mistakes, English is not my main language.

domanz
Thanks for your suggestion, I realized that mod being created but it got out of my mind. I might try it once I figure out how to change out of beast form without getting my nord face reset (common problem when you change your race ingame). But I will definitely use it with my other characters. And godofpeace, never thought about buffing myself before changing form. Might try that too. Still, a little more love for weres would be great, and for vampires the same. Edited November 26, 2011 by domanz
