raatorotta
Here's a problem for you. I married Aela then divorced her cause she was buggy. Divorced her using the completequest breakup ID. Then I used resetquest relationshipmarriage, setstage relationship 10, addfac and setrelationshiprank, all the stuff you're supposed to do. Had Lydia selected during the right codes, put the amulet on, and talked to her. She notices that I have the amulet and asks why I'm not taken, but I don't get a dialogue option for marriage. Even tried talking to the priest guy. What gives, man? Did she see me taking my last wife out to the woodshed or something? Edit: also just tried it with Mjoll, she does the same thing. Mentions the amulet, but doesn't give me a dialogue option to marry. And yes, I found grimsever for her. You must talk that priest in Riften to get option to marry someone, then wear amulet. Then talk npc you want to marry after those console commands.
Rainmaker118
Thanks, but that doesn't work. Ditched my old amulet, bought a new one from maramal and went through all his dialogue options. Same effect, I'm not getting the marriage option from people. I don't think it's just Lydia. I don't get the option to marry -anyone- anymore. It might be something to do with the priest, but I'm not sure what, as he's already given me an amulet. LiamFarley1998
NephilimNexus Lydia is glitched so the only way to marry her is with console commands. Also, there are NPC's such as Vex that even with the console cannot be married/recruited. Its in their factions that they can't with the npc editor you can make that possible. GomuGomu64
By the way, I noticed that there is a faction called "MarriageExcludedFaction". I haven't done any testing with it, but I'm pretty sure that faction is used for the married NPCs/Storyline ones. So if you have completely finished (Or have no further interest) with a particular npc, which is married, go at it. 47a01 = Marriage Excluded Faction And also, I have been really enticed by the idea of "Bigamy at Skyrim" (+1 internet for who gets the reference), and did some experementation. There is a faction called : c6472 = PlayerMarriedFaction I don't know if this is either for the Player, the player's wife, or both, but I found that if you 'removefac 6472', followed by 'removefac 7431a' ( 7431a = MarriageCourtingFaction ) and 'removefac ff7f3' ( ff7f3 = MarriageAskedFaction ), AND follow those up with 'removefac c6472' (This time on the player and NPC. Might be an idea to also remove the MarriageCourtingFaction as well. See what happens) You can intiate the dialogue to marry another person (Should you be wearing an amulet of Mara) even whilst you are married. The trouble here, however, is that although you can make it to the temple and get a pair of rings, as soon as the ceremony is over, it's as if nothing ever happened. The NPC (I used Janessa for the test, whilst being married to Erdi) just went back to being a hireling in the Drunken Hunstman. I'll do some more research. Feel free to play around with those factions and see what you get. I do advise making a save beforehand. Console can screw things up majorly. tl:dr I got off-topic, so read the first few lines. What I didaddtofaction 19809 1setrelationshiprank player 4player.setrelationshiprank player 4 <-- This is a bad command. You need only look at the exact one above to realise this. This command makes you love yourself. I suspect that this could lead to a couple o' errors or CTDs. Be careful wit' dat.disableenable I have an amulet of Mara. Anya29
If you're still having trouble, make sure you are clicking on the person (try face or neck) not their clothes or you will be trying to marry her armour. Pentrazemine
The command for 'setrelationshiprank' doesn't work. Neither does the 'player.setrelationshiprank 4' command work as well. It just says in console 'Missing parameter actors base'. Any help here?
Xarnac
Can I make enemies into allies with the addfac command? Like, a sabercat companion for example. Edited February 9, 2012 by Xarnac
solaceinfear
Marriage can easily be obtained by most through the creation kit. I had problems doing this in-game with Idgrod the Younger, and now it works. I added her manually to the PlayerMarriageFaction, MarriageAskedFaction, and PotentialMarriageFaction. The PotentialMarriageFaction is the one with the code 00019809, but the other factions are not given by most people teaching others how to marry people. Some NPC's need the other two (well I have gathered this from a quick test on one I have been having troubles with) and that is why simply adding them to that one faction did not work. The relationship must be changed in-game too though. This didn't simply do that as well. While writing this, I'm trying to make Serana a potential spouse. The thing is, she cannot be married due to a block with her voicing. If I change her voice to a normal Nord, I can get it. However, she loses her unique abilities at that point. I can always change it back after the marriage, and she retains the marriage, but you can't make her cook food. The voice acting is what activates that dialog. I'm guessing the khajiit cannont be married for a similar reason.
