Glossy Lips

I followed the STEP guide yesterday and set up STEP Extended along with the Survival pack. Everything works pretty well, despite adding a few mods (mostly armors and hairs etc and using CBBE instead of XCE), but I can't get lips to shine whatsoever. Nothing is overwriting the textures I'm trying to use in order to attain gloss.

I've tried pretty lips, seductive lips, and coverwomen lips tint mask....nothing seems to help.

Is there something wrong in my ini setup that could be messing with this function? I've had other Skyrim setups where glossy lips worked fine.

Any suggestions would be extremely useful. Thank you.

Tint masks don't control shine. They just 'mask' where the tint (e.g. lipstick) does and does not show.

Lip shine is controlled by the face texture's specular map (_s.dds). I don't know if RaceMenu has any additional plugins for specular changes. If not, you'll have to edit the face texture yourself, or ask the original author of the face texture if they don't allow other people to edit, or if they do allow that and you can't do it yourself, ask in the requests forum.

I see, thank you for the correction. I have also tried other face textures (Women of Skyrim, BI Phenotypes, Coverwomen, regular CBBE textures) that have been successfully glossed in the past, so I don't think the issue is not having specular maps. (I'll check my textures to be sure.)

I have been suspicious that my game is not properly loading specular maps. Is there a way to figure that out? No amount of Googling has helped me any.

This might offer some help also http://www.loverslab.com/topic/59100-brightness-issues-with-vividian-enb-and-smaa/

Did you uninstall anything in the middle of the game?

Also the skyrimprefs.ini is not used from My Documents\Games\Skyrim.

The skyrimprefs.ini is read from the Mo folder profiles profile-name

Have anice day

Thank you for your guidance.

I only edit MO's ini data.

I did not uninstall anything and tested as I went.

I'll take a look at this link and see if it helps :)
