runicNomad
Ok so I am basically trying to make a texture not visible. The texture in question is the diamond marker that shows up next to different things like empty barrel and lock.I have the plugin for photoshop and have the file opened. How do I make it so the texture is basically just empty? Would I remove all the layers and channels or tweak the alpha some way?My goal is either having the texture not be read or be fully transparent.thanks
masterthief300
I'm wondering this as well...I'm trying to remove a mask texture so the face model shows instead of the mask. So, thanks for asking this and I'll look forward to the answer :)
Ghogiel
well the alpha layer in the diffuse map would be the transparency map. So make the areas you want transparent black... If the model already has NiAlphaProperty then that will work... ie if the model already uses a transparency map it'll be set up, however if it does not and you want to add it, you have to open the mesh in nifskope and add a nialphaproperty to the Nitrishape. If that is confusing to you... try looking at a vanilla nif that does have transparency to see where it is hooked up...

masterthief300
Edit: Nevermind...found the nifskope file mod to load skyrim nifs :) Edited November 26, 2011 by masterthief300
Ghogiel
you need to grab an updated nif.xml and paste it into the nifskope directory. check the niftools forum to find it. Edited November 26, 2011 by Ghogiel
