I don't have workshop, .ba2 files were corrected along with 1.6.9 exe's and dll's.

Not using f4se has made no improvement.

Thanks for the update. Now I know that I don't need to mess around with unloading my F4SE mods.

Well, I'm still on v1.7.9 of the game and whenever I get into frame-rate problems using the F4SE .exe, I quick-save, get out of the game, restart the game through Bilago's .exe and merrilly continue stutter-free. Only mod that doesn't work when not using the F4SE is "Place Everywhere". The Looksmenu Mirror mod keeps working like it should...

I tried Bilago's exe and other settings, no improvement for me so I must have other issues.

I must have missed something that was installed with the 1.7 update, that's when my fps drop began.

I hate to do a clean install, but playing at 30 fps is no fun, either.

Well, this of course may sound silly and overused, but, make sure all your mods are up-to-date and/or have the right version installed. I had a CTD getting near the General Atomics Factory in the "A New Threat" Automatron quest, from whatever angle or direction I approached.

Updated all my mods (unrelated to my quandry; just saw too many exclamation marks in NMM to my taste) and just now was able to finish the quest. Mods that were updated had nothing to do with Automatron at all, but nevertheless the CTD is history (touching a reasonable amount of wood here)...

Stability has been outstanding for me in FO4. The only crashes I got was from dirty mods and when 1.7.9 debuted. That's when my fps woes began. Nvidia Inspector has been the most help so far for me. I don't recall what all I modified without looking at it, but I am up to 30-50 fps now. Still, I was at a steady 60 fps from the first install to 1.6.9. That's why I know my problems began at that point.

I am going to wait until Nuka World is added, then decide what I need to do. I am thinking it's not going to run on 1.6.9. and it will kill some of my current mods. I have Far Harbor and Automatron dlc now.

When I got the game end of November, I did a crash- and glitch free modless run, all settings on Ultra with all the whistles and bells that go with it, on a five year old MSI R7970 Lightning (non boost edition) and as of my second run I started adding mods, mostly armour/clothing, weapons and graphical ones plus an ENB. Ran into trouble because my GPU has 'only' 3GB of V-RAM on its back. Set things straight by using ENBoost.

Things kept going smoothly in Ultra until the 1.5 update. As of then, everything went pear-shaped for a while. Never recovered to how I could run the game before that. V-RAM/RAM use is through the roof despite adding ShadowBoost, going as high as 3GB on the GPU and 9GB system RAM (minus 2.5-ish for OS and whatever runs in the background). Have 4x4GB of system RAM at my disposal, by the way.

Started deleting mods and added the use of LOOT and bit by bit my game started running glitch-free again, but V-RAM/RAM use has been a pain ever since the 1.5 update.

Have all the DLC and am currently running 315 mods of which 254 have a plug-in. Will get me an RX-470 8GB next week as an in-between card, just for the 8GB of V-RAM. The RX-470, while being a lower- to mid-tier GPU, is still faster than my R7970. Will get a Vega GPU later, in October or next spring. Nothing against NVidia -been using them until I switched from an Asus 8800GTS 512MB TOP to an Asus HD5870 Matrix Platinum mid 2009. Since then I stuck with ATI/AMD for the price).

My MSI is the first Intel/Nvidia setup I have owned. I was always an AMD guy. I agree v-ram/ram use is a problem. I have jacked with my settings but F4 loads it up. No problems with other Beth games. I am only running 48 plugins. I will get the fps thing figured out or I will do a complete re-install.
