BlackPlague69 Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 I know there is a bypass because I used to have over 400 mods about a year ago so now I am doing things a bit different because now after I install that 256th mod all my mods reset and most of them just get all screwed up sio is there something I could do to get this done?
twiztedmongoloid Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 There is NO way to get more than 255 plugins. A MOD isnt the same as a plugin. The only way to add more mods with esps is to merge esps together using a tool like merge plugins. My mod list BEFORE merging was around 360 plugins....

twiztedmongoloid Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 the video covers every aspect of the tool making seem a little bit more complicated than it is.........in practice it takes literally 2 mins to merge mods. I would take the time to watch the video tho as GamerPoets explains things very very well. Just skip the parts that dont pertain to you. As long as you follow the guidelines for merging he mentions in the video its very safe. Also merges can easily be undone if for any reason they dont work out. So it wont ruin your game.
Mavkiel Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Depends on what you are merging. Generally very safe. If you know what you are doing. If not, and you have 255 mods, I'd re-evaluate which mods you really need. Safest way would be manually merging, which is actually going record by record and copying one mod into another. You have to know in the case of conflicts which mod needs to win. That method is also fairly time consuming. The auto merge feature, is fast and reliable, provided you know its limits. In short, since you answered you don't know why you can't go above 255 mods, don't know about the tool.. I'd highly suggest just going through your load order and cleaning it up. Not trying to sound like an ass, but that tool is in beta and it'd be seriously easy to screw your game up.

Its used in the STEP guides and as long as you follow merging guidelines it works as advertised. Merges can also be deleted and everything restored as it was pretty easily. Running advanced setups usually require some merges.
Mavkiel Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Didn't it have some issue with race records? Going from memory, not booted up fallout since contraptions dlc rolled out. I am waiting for one big run through with nuka-world.
