ckhong87
Hi I just started to play with mods and wanna listen evaluations about my mod combinations.other things are not important but I'm trying to make combat balance better. at first, I installed ASIS + DCR + Enhanced high level gameplay (I'm lv 14 so far so this mod maybe doesn't matter yet) in the first of gameplay, I tried to stick with Expert setting but I downed it to adept now. not sure it is normal with these mods but, I'm wearing steel heavy set and lv 14 warrior , two handed bandit killed me with heavy attack when I'm in full hp, several times, in adpet difficulty. and falmer stalker(?) killed me with one hit (200hp) with his one handed weapon in adept difficulty, lv14, about 150 armor. Is it ok to stick with these setting? I just installed ACE combat skills and feeling its a little easier, maybe changed perk options from this mod affecting both of me and enemies.and started to leveling smithing (I actually didn't want to level smithing cause I know its very OP, but I'm expecting smithing from ACE mod maybe more balanced) so how do you think about these mods combinations. I played without any mods when the skyrim just came out and it was too easy, so I don't want to play as vanilla. dpgillam
I would recommend going to Sands of Time and downloading the mods they recommend. You'll get creamed often for a while, but you'll learn to get good.
Elias555
You need tk dodge and mortal enemies as a staple for improved combat.
twiztedmongoloid
There are quite a few options out there. A lot of it is a matter of taste and preference. But everyone can agree that the vanilla game leaves a lot to be desired. Your best bet is to do some researching on your own (google is your friend). And read the descriptions of the various combat mods on nexus. Theres just too many to cover. You can check my mod list in the link in my sig. also check out skyrim gems I personally recommend http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/76529/? As well as all the other mods by that author. He does GREAT work and all of his stuff is up to date. additionally check out advanced adversary encounters......its a better alternative to revenge of the enemies. For economy...and alchemy which are also broken in the vanilla game i would strongly advise getting trade and barter as well as complete cooking and alchemy overhaul. laiilaiiheii
It's a lot of personal preferences. I used quite some combinations and sticking to this combo now.Modern brawl bug fixesCombat behavior imrpoveddodge mod (tk dodge does practically the same, but interferes with combat behavior imrpoved)duel wield parryingSperg (and patches) (requires uncapper, there is someone who made a pre version for sperg called sperg - better leveling)simple spell scaling (to not be too overpowered with sperg)Violens (killcam control)archery gameplay overhaul (Has lots of control and extra's for archers)Grimoire of Skyrim (Adds really cool spells immersively in the game)Immersive weapons and armor (since the npc's will use these)combat evolved (the best combat mod out there IMO, I haven't tried wild cat yet, which might be nice to)Be sure to read up on all the descriptions and look at some videos or reviews of people to see if the mods are for you. Also check at dangerous outdated mod lists in reddit (just google it). I think there are some combat mods that can seriously mess up your game.
BlackRoseOfThorns
I have personally steer away from "heavy" combat modifications in favor of much better and simpler lightweight solutions that have been released recently. tktk Dodge 2.0 ~ After the update the script is much more responsive. Roll forward animation has been added.tktk HitStop ~ Gives you better imput on successful strikes.\tktk Ultimate Dragons 2.0 ~ If you liked Monster Hunter series, you will love the new Dragon behaviors. I have ditched DCO mod (and haven't looked back) after being forced to fight against mid air target for 90% of the fight. It still might be a good option for you, if you don't mind it.Wildcat - Combat of Skyrim ~ Much better solution than buggy locational damage. With different side effects attached to wound system (tripping on leg injury, etc) it encourages you to not take chances with getting hit in critical areas (brute forcing your character through the fight with 10hp left and eating 100 cheese wheels mid combat).Attack Commitment No turning during attacks Better Jumping by meh321 ~ For uninterupted Sprint to Jump animations and more realistic jump distance (you can configure it in .ini file). SKSE .dll plugin, does not take space in your load order.or Athletics Training - with MCM by Volek ~ If you don't mind scripts.Duke Patricks - Skyrim Friction Fix II ~ Prevents actors from sliding from rocks and mountains, also disables Skyrim Space Program funded by Giants.Combat Behavior Improved by Moljka ~ Removes movement restriction on block animation. Compatible with latest version of FNIS.Kick Bash by evanoblivion + Forceful Bash by Borjoyzee with Realistic Ragdolls and Force ~~~ Video (NPCs will also perform it)Follow Me and Swim After Me by Tonycubed2 - Sands of Time Team Realistic Humanoid Movement Speed by brump Archery Gameplay Overhaul ~ Mostly for the new immersive animations.Skyrim - Enhanced Camera by LogicDragon ~ For first person mesh compability with custom animations. Also forces realistic physics/perspective in 1st person on being knocked to the ground or ragdolling after death. Plus you can see yourself carring your weapon when you look down.D13 Faster GET UP STAND UP animation ~ You don't want to spend most of your time on the ground being stomped.Get Out Of My Way by Volek ~ When NPCs don't move away fast enough. Also works with Highwayman initial dialogue. Optional:Combat Evolved ~ Changes Wildcats's enemy attack patterns and can be loaded after it without loosing wound system.
