downloads getting corrupted

I just downloaded all of the files in your link with no problem. Opened with WinRAR, no corruption reports. Please clarify.

WinRAR will automatically, without notifying the user, fix some types of .zip file corruption, including this corruption. Many unzippers, including the one built in to windows XP, do not do this however, so it is unacceptable as a hosting option. I suggest you avoid using WinRAR to check for corruption. So far as I can tell, the problem is exactly as I've described. I'll throw out random details in the hope that these will help you.

The correct file size for version 0.55 is 14759 bytes. The file you return has a size of 17493 bytes. If you examine the correct file in a hex editor, you can see that it begins with 504B03041400000008 ("PK" in ascii followed by some binary stuff). If you examine the file tesnexus is sending out, it begins with 3c6272202f3e0a3c ("<br />.<" in ascii).

edit: I had not realized that WinRAR was silently extracting correct files from this stuff until you mentioned it an I checked on my own copy of WinRAR. Given this new information, I am no longer certain that anyone ever downloaded the correct version of the file - possibly the people I talked to who had no problems a few days ago were merely using WinRAR.

edit: Oops, I meant the previous text to be an edit to my old post instead of a reply to it... oh well, no real difference.

edit: You could try comparing the file you see on the server to my description of the correct file to see if the corruption is happening during the upload process or the download process. If you want more data about the correct file, it can be found here:
