Ghogiel
think of a cube. it has 6 sides. now take each square of the cube, and map each colored square from that texture to a face of the cube. Now put your model inside this cube, now imagine that each face of the cube projects the texture onto the surface of the model. now rotate the model inside the cube, but the cube does not rotate, it's fixed.. and so is the texture that it is projecting. that bottom picture is what the model looks like in game, but from different camera view point .. No matter what way you rotate or orientate the mesh, you always get the pink at the top.. even if the mesh is rotated upside down, so it's bottom is at the top now.. the pink stays fixed from the +z, so it is now displayed on the models bottom, but only because you rotated it upside down, so it's now at the top. what you see there is the mesh in the same orientation, but the camera has moved, so the mapping still displays on the same parts of the mesh, if I were to rotate the mesh itself... the cube map would reorientate itself accordingly, it's not really moving, it's just always projecting from this imaginary cube outside the mesh. A couple pictures would help explain exactly what is going on, just google cube mapping. Edited November 28, 2011 by Ghogiel
gmillar
It's not like you'd be able to see anything of your character besides floating hands anyway.

Aluminumfoil
I do not believe that surfaces in Skyrim reflect actors - only lightsources, sky, environment, and terrain. Creating a mirror would require coding the whole thing, not just adding a reflective surface to an object.

Creating a mirror would require coding the whole thing, not just adding a reflective surface to an object. Ya that is depressing and defeats the whole purpose, what I would like to know is if there is any possible way to make it work, we probably have to wait and see what they give us in the creation kit but does anyone think it would be possible? Thepal
We can't give you a definitive answer until we have proper NIFtools and the Creation Kit (and possibly Scripting/Graphic extenders) Edited November 29, 2011 by Thepal
