thesapien
The book Children of the Sky makes no mention of when they gained their ability to shout, only that they have it. I was just pointing out that they did not get it when they were created as you implied, but instead during the Dragon Wars. Uh? When? It describes it as "the vital essence of a Nord" right after describing how this is also how they came to be. Look, again, I'm not saying this book is correct. It doesn't even say who wrote it or when. If it is accurate, then the Nords already had the gift but learned to use it better during the Dragon Wars. Really, it's part of something I like about this game, namely; that there are many conflicting mythologies, you know, like in our world. Btw, did you read the part about how Nords would cut out the tongues of their enemies to make a weapon that could bust open a gate? Damn.
pastafrola
Yeah, I love the Thalmor. I love to stab them, shoot them, bash them, burn them, electrocute them, and wipe my bloody axe in their fancy robes . http://assets0.ordienetworks.com/images/GifGuide/clapping/taxidriver.gif

It talking about "breath and voice being the vital essence of the Nords" is showing connection to Kyne because Kyne is the one who created them and gave them the voice, it is not detailing when Kyne gave them that gift. An example I could write "Odin created mankind with a hammer, the spirit of the hammer is the vital essence for humans." However that does not mean mankind could use the hammer correctly when they first appeared, or that they had the ability at all, only that it was part of their essence.
